Kentucky Senator and Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said that he thinks there are about 58 senators who will vote to defund Planned Parenthood on Tuesdays Hannity on the Fox News Channel.

A token vote that will be vetoed. Everyone wins cept for dead babies. Soooo tired of the stupid political games.
I refuse to be impressed by “close”. 58 isn’t veto-proof. They shouldn’t pass ANYTHING that includes funding for Planned Parenhood. End of discussion.
Token, indeed. Democrats in swing states/districts will be given carte blanche to vote for defunding.
Half a billion dollars of our tax money per year...
Just enough to fail. Yay.
The crux of this problem is not in the Senate even though it does pander, pose and scheme with the best of them.
The real problem here is in that body the Constitution charges with the responsibility to set and allocate funds - the US House of Representative.
In reality, the House CAN dictate that no allocated funding go towards Planned Parenthood operations; they need only stipulate so. It is then up to them to keep the pair of cojones that God gave them and make it immutable by the President. Unfortunately this also requires determination and a backbone (which they check in the cloak room before entering chambers).
As Reid said, channelling Barney Frank, ‘Good luck with that’.
“A token vote that will be vetoed....”

It will never even get to the point of requiring a presidential veto. It needs 60 votes for closure so it will successfully be filibustered to death.
This was McConnell’s plan (and the plan of the Washington cartel) all along...have no doubts. He wants to keep the federal money flowing to Planned Parenthood. This is why they didn’t take Ted Cruz’ approach up as it would have only required 51 votes (and passed) instead of the 60 votes required by the approach ENGINEERED BY MCCONNELL.
Right on. McChicken could’ve added this to the transportation bill because it involved funding. Could’ve partially paid for the bill using PP money.
But he doesn’t want to defund PP as much as he wants to raid the trough.
Reid has already said it’ll filibuster.
All they need is McCommie and McCain to change their vote to get to 60.
Pray America is waking
The Big Sticks will only come out if you threaten to get to 60. I put the chances of 59 at 75%. The chances of 60: About .00001%
"It's Showtime"
Put it up for vote and let Hussein VETO it!! We need to know who is for selling dead baby parts.
Take a cue. This is how you bring down the progressive sickness on our country.
Videotape them in reprehensible acts. Shouldn’t be too hard.
Soon, the baby mills will be producing faster than Planned Parenthood can sell the parts, PROVIDING those making the babies get a part of the selling price for the parts. I envision the baby mill mothers returning every nine months to get their new found source of income.
The bastards that are killing these babies need to be put in jail for murder, mutilating a corpse, etc.
What a sick society this nation has become. God will not forget.
Sorry Rand. You need 67. But nice token vote.
More than that. It will take 67 after Zero vetoes.
Can someone explain to me how PP is entitled to taxpayer funding? Once a group gets federal funds, does it mean the gravy train never stops? I really don’t know how this works so please inform. Thanks!
It is still necessary to go through the motions to flush the RINOs and Rats into the open once again.
