On July 24, the day after John Russell Houser allegedly used a handgun to kill two people in Lafayette, Louisiana, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley called on Congress to ban “the sale of assault weapons” and “[establish] a national gun registry.”
He also said it is time to “[increase] inspections” on gun shops and mandate that gun owners lock up their guns in their homes.

I don’t believe in gun laws of any kind other than every child 12 and older should no how to handle a fire arm and regardless of one’s criminal or mental history(a red herring in the debate anyway) every citizen has the right to own a firearm. It say’s ‘’Shall not be infringed’’.

We'll hold back and wait for the very first family that is shot by the jackbooted thugs going door-to-door taking weapons that were, prior to the law, perfectly legal. That first family to be shot WILL BE AVENGED. We won't fire the first shot, but once the first shot is fired, IT'S ON. A 76 winchester would be considered an assault weapon when it was,state of the art. So would a Sharps. It is whatever he wants it to be.
