Riding a wave of non-stop publicity, a new poll this past week shows mogul Donald Trump solidly in first place among likely Republican primary and caucus voters nationwide. The new Zogby Analytics poll of 256 likely voters was conducted online July 22-23 shows Mr. Trump leading with the support of 20% of those polled.
He is followed by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush with 16%, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker 12%, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul 9%, neurosurgeon and author Dr. Ben Carson 7%, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee 6% each, Texas Senator Ted Cruz 5%, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie 3%, Ohio Governor John Kasich and Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal 2%, and everyone else at 1% or less.
If dominating the airwaves is the name of the game, then Mr. Trump has got game. Mr. Bush leads among men with 21% to 17% for Mr. Paul, 16% for Mr. Walker, and 12% for Mr. Trump.

You mean “cancer” Perry.
Why is Bush 2nd?—GAG
Perry and Bush —remember “compassionate conservatism” in other words total democrat lite.
On a fast down escalator to a sub floor. ;-)
You're right. All the other polls have Cruz at 4%.
Not true, the latest CNN poll has Cruz at 7% almost putting him in the top tier of candidates, please see below.
Trump wins 18 percent to top the poll, while Bush comes in second place with 15 percent. Walker pulls 10 percent and Cruz is in fourth place now with 7 percent.
Trump gets anywhere near these women percentages in votes, it's goodbye to the GOP-E and Dems.

++++
Such a practical answer you offer up. You are correct of course.
But what scares me is the act of deferring to the ladies for the choice of our next President. After all, they selected the one we have now.
That’s a 25% gain so it is really good if you look at the rate of increase.
Wow!
Even Zogby’s famous special sauce cannot cool off the Donald!
Rarely do you see such a tiny sample being touted.
Worthless.
It has been widely known for some time that the establishment Republicans do not like social conservatives. Why? Because social conservatives are the conscience of the nation and many of those establishment types who like to call themselves conservatives to appeal to their “base” and get votes have abandoned core beliefs of this country. People are waking up to the fact that we have been voting for a lot of fakes.
A lot of the Bush support is soft, I think it is mostly name recognition.
You left out the other half - Financial Conservatives, those of us who see that Government spending is out of control! They want their corrupt practices of buying votes for favors and neither party wants to do away with that.
We have a Government of Millionaires who continue to cater to those that provide the money for their campaigns. This is a guaranteed collapse of Democratic Government although it might take some time as they continue to provide crumbs to the poor so that they can buy their votes.
Government of Goldman-Sachs, by Goldman-Sachs, for Goldman-Sachs.
It’s worst than that...
We have the Better Business Bureau threatening conservatives and looking for ways to take them out this next election. They are invested in Republicans that are for more illegal immigration for cheap business interests. Not sure why they just don’t bypass Republicans and go for the Democrats. Must be a money kickback thing...
The scariest situation for the democrats is having Trump be the VP nominee. They are scared to death of his money. Hillary’s criminal foundation money was to be the key to their success. Much of that money is in doubt. Hillary is in doubt. And Trump is so far impervious to their normal tactics. The democrats key tactic is to tarnish the Republican candidate they fear, use the media to echo it and thereby dry up the candidates funding stream. That won’t work with Trump. Trump may not be a committed conservative, but I think he is much more open to input from the conservative wing than any other position going forward.
“ted cruz is not at 5%. I dont know how much more ridiculous these poll numbers are; dont have to look any further than that.”
Outside of the literate “concerned” voter not many know Ted Cruz exists.
