In a pair of losses for conservatives, the Senate voted overwhelmingly Sunday to revive the Export-Import Bank while failing to overcome a filibuster of an attempt to repeal Obamacare with more fireworks to come.
The rare Sunday votes set the stage for the Senate to send a long-term highway bill tied to the Ex-Im Bank to the House later this week, but not before facing other gambits by conservatives, including a procedural vote forced by Sen. Ted Cruz regarding the Iran deal and an effort to deploy a maneuver akin to the nuclear option.

knees always jerk on cue
The vote should never have occured as is to begin with. Did you miss Cruz’ speeches?
But we are right. Again. Deal with it Bert.
I'll be looking to back anyone who can unseat that RINO, Sessions, but the despicable Cornyn just won re-election last year. Dammit.
“Americans love a winner. They cannot tolerate a loser.”
It is my opinion that Trump, Cruz and Fiorina are now allies
Don't they have to have character in the first place in order to impugn it?
They will have divide their efforts between two targets now; you and Norm. Keep after them Windy!
Effing losers.
When will we ever get someone other than a Demoncrat or Republicrat to vote for. Both are heavily polluted.
Exactly. If a Rino get the republican nomination Walker and Cruz should run independent.
Uniparty.
Ohhhhh....so Republicans DO want the corrupt crony bank after all.
Thanks for clearing that up, Cornhole.
The only reason I am retaining my Republican Party registration is so I can vote against any and all GOPe candidates and issues.
Unfortunately for those of us in KY & TX, the turds named McConnell and Cornyn are stuck in the pipes for five more years.
Well said, Nathan. Atlas Shrugged is now nonfiction. Ted Cruz is John Galt.
Oh Windy’s been in their sights a long time too. We fought the PDS wars together.
Of course out former third Amigo, Lakeshark is calling for us purists who opposed liberal GOP governance to be shot these days.
You can add my name to that band of brothers. McConnell and Boehner are actually members of the Starnes Family. During my walk yesterday, I was listening to the third hour of John Galt's speech, and it was chilling how right Rand got it.
He sure is channeling Patton, isn't he? That's the precise leadership model the U.S. needs in these times, and Trump's stepping right up to the plate.
It is my opinion that Trump, Cruz and Fiorina are now allies
I think that's going to become more and more apparent as the weeks and months roll by. Trump's already steps ahead of the competition, and is now reaching out to like-minded patriots to form an unbeatable coalition.
Some who are now positioned as opponents, have already chosen to join him, as early major players, in creating a new paradigm of American politics. A new and very different era is about to begin in this country, and those smart enough to see it, are quickly finding their places in it.
Trump is obviously a shrewd player when it comes to world class, high stakes games. He was made for this kind of stuff, and is leaving the political establishment hacks dumbfounded and slack jawed. They're still not quite sure what's going on, but they're going to find out. Soon.
Thanks, Sport. You bet I will.
Ya think maybe it’s our ‘tone’? I dunno. Maybe we should moderate that a bit.
Ya know - bring back a modicum of civility and decorum. Reach across the aisle, and try to understand the RINOs and leftist scum....ooops....
Pardon me, I mean, our ‘good friends on the other side’.
Whaddya think?
FXXK’em.
Other than that, sure ;)
