Senate Votes to Revive Export-Import Bank, Keep Obamacare
Roll Call ^ | 7/26/15 | Niels Lesniewski

Posted on 07/26/2015 1:53:15 PM PDT by jimbo123

In a pair of losses for conservatives, the Senate voted overwhelmingly Sunday to revive the Export-Import Bank while failing to overcome a filibuster of an attempt to repeal Obamacare — with more fireworks to come.

The rare Sunday votes set the stage for the Senate to send a long-term highway bill tied to the Ex-Im Bank to the House later this week, but not before facing other gambits by conservatives, including a procedural vote forced by Sen. Ted Cruz regarding the Iran deal and an effort to deploy a maneuver akin to the “nuclear option.”

I repeat myself: if a new/3rd party was started in ‘08 it would already be over the initial difficult years and would be 7 years old now and the gop would be a faded bad memory. By the time Rush and the others admit that the gop is over, it may very well be too late to fight back given 20 million+ illegal voters.

Here is what the GOP is for:
1) Preserving and expanding Obamacare so as to off load health care costs to the U.S. Tax Payer.
2) Lower Corporate tax rates and increase Corporate subsidies while increasing tax rates for the middle class to fund government

3) Expand welfare, subsidies, and benefits for the underclass to keep them passive

4) Expand welfare, subsidies, and benefits for illegal aliens to continue to make them cost effective for big business

5) Increase the minimum wage to allow government workers and favored unions to receive wage increases tied to the minimum wage while turning a blind eye to private employers hiring illegal aliens under the table since such wages for entry level jobs are unaffordable for most small business owners.

6) Increase visas for lower wage workers as well as opening the borders to illegals to adjust wage conditions to acceptable rates.Once American workers start to feel the pinch they’ll start working for the correct wages in the new economy.

7) Work together with Democrats on common objectives.

8) Drive Christians,Patriots,Conservatives and other undesirable Tea Party types from the political process using the media, tax code, lawfare, education, and social conditioning to eliminate these obstructionist from interfering with readjusting the U.S. to a more rational business and governing model.

9) Reform the education system to produce compliant workers able to produce more for less yet not question their superiors in either government or employment.

10)Eliminate private vehicles so travel can be monitored and controlled. Just say we’re helping the environment and cutting green house emissions.

11) Eliminate private housing so people can be warehoused together and more closely monitored and controlled. Just say it’s to increase open spaces for a greener earth.

12) Work with the Left and advance the alliance of Big Government and Big Business for the benefit of both sets of elites.

This is your real GOP agenda.

Those of us that called for it years ago were trashed by the very people that voted for Mitch, jonbon and Romney.

We were right. They were wrong. Their ‘wrong’ may well have ended America and they are proud of it.

Well, let's see. What's next?...

Ballot Box

Soap Box...

Jury Box...

...

Oh, wait. Did I miss one here?

Nothing. Because people are not going to go with an option far more serious when they can’t vote like Americans to begin with.

I confess that for some time I had been in the "lesser of two evils" camp believing that there always seemed to be one more emergency or one more threat that meant that the country simply could not survive a Democrat administration. I remember invoking this argument on behalf of George W. Bush against John Kerry while we were fighting in Iraq and I even found reasons to support John McCain because Barack Obama was a radical leftist, even a communist.

It has become clear now beyond debate that it matters not, at least not enough when measured against a long perspective of history, whether a Rino or a Democrat holds office in the Congress or in the White House. This is a hard statement but the behavior of the Rino Republicans in Congress has made disillusionment the only enlightened reaction. The administration of George W. Bush, while conservative in some respects, was so flawed from an ideological point of view that it forfeited respect for the few good and well intentioned things it did but, alas, many of them even miscarried. One need only look at judicial appointments of Bush father and son to make that point.

In my defense I would say that it is necessary to go the full measure if one wants to own the high moral ground. In other words, it was necessary for the world to see how Hitler despised Neville Chamberlain's well-intentioned policies of appeasement in order to clear away the debris of misunderstanding and make plain the kind of evil Hitler represented. Because of Chamberlain's concessions by 1939 no thinking person could dispute Hitler's guilt for starting the war.

So now we know, Churchill was right and Norm was right too, there can be no modus vivendi with these people, it is war to the death with the Republican establishment. In war there is only one strategy and that is victory. Either the Republican Party is riven asunder and the Democrats proceed to destroy the Republic, or conservatives prevail and save the Republic. Either conservatives win and save the Republic or Rinos prevail and combine with Democrats to squander our heritage. There is no accommodation possible. No appeasement now. It is September 1939.

Imagine that. FR posters should consider open season on liberals here who continue to obstruct conservative governance.

I realize that it's difficult for facts to get through the static sometimes, but no republican senators voted against the ACA repeal amendment. or maybe no one reads the article, and comment on the headline.

Five GOP senators – Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.), Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) and Pat Tommey (R-Pa.) – did not vote, though it would not have changed the final outcome.

the real test will come a little later this week. the way the votes are lined up, a repeal vote could pass with 51 votes, which is exactly the way this sinister scheme was passed in the first place.

Hear hear.
I believe it is a combination of blackmail and the lawlessness, cavalier sinning, if you will, that has made this occur...there are curbs and rails that are just not there in these turds’ minds anymore. Lying is a primary language. God plead continue to hold up Mr Cruz’s arms.

Amanda Carpenter @amandacarpenter
But let’s be honest. Even in the minority Reid is a far more effective leader than McConnell has ever dreamed of being. He has balls.
Lol.. Doesn’t Amanda work for Cruz? I like her tone, lol.

Well, Burgess is POLITICO and Dennis is Roll Call: so a couple of ‘pundits’.

no one seems to actually read the articles, or, heaven forbid, put al gore's innerwebz to good use and read other articles.

no one thought we would win this one. the test will be later this week.

“The first Obamacare vote on Sunday will have a 60 vote threshold, and Democrats will likely block it,” Lee said in a statement. “But thanks to the sequencing of the votes we just locked in, Republicans will have the opportunity resurrect that Obamacare amendment later on in the process, and put it back before the Senate in a manner that only requires a simple-majority vote.”
