I heard one fifth of Mexico’s population(150M) lives in the USA.

******

If you are only half-right, that is still a lot of people. If we are to believe the anti-Trump haters, the illegals among them never dealt in drugs or brought their other crimes with them when they crossed the border illegally in the middle of the night.

In fact, if we are to believe the anti-Trump haters, all those illegals were innocent and pure as snow, and they did not do anything wrong in Mexico or in other Latin American countries before they crossed the border in the middle of the night illegally. Sure. (sarcasm)

I believe that Mr. Trump has been thinking about this stuff for a while!! What he would do.

I do too. I recall some number of years ago Trump was invited to testify before a Congressional committee relating to the rebuilding and renovation of the UN headquarters in New York.

Needless to say, he tore the bureaucrats a new orifice and demonstrated that he could do the job for about a tenth of the projected cost. Naturally, they thanked him for his testimony and continued to march down the rabbit trail of corruption.

Point is, Trump is no fool, and those who think he is, are sadly misinformed.

Trump has staked much of his campaign on his promise to solve what many of his supporters see as a major immigration crisis. As anyone serious about the issue of illegal immigration recognizes, there are at least 11 million undocumented workers in the U.S. right now, and rounding them up for deportation is not a viable option.

...

If all those illegal aliens demanded smaller government and an end to political corruption, they would be kicked out of the country tomorrow.

I can not believe what I am hearing here.

That's just it. You don't seem to be hearing anyone here at all.

You want him to come right out and say that he's going to forcibly deport 40 million illegals? At this point in the race, that'd be suicide.

Take the hint. He told you that he's going to boot some illegals out of this country. Anything more than that, at this point, would be a bridge too far for a lot of Americans he's trying to gently coax over to our side.

Exactly so and that is the point that's LOST on almost everyone!

At least Mr. Trump has used the words "deport" and "deportation."

There's not one candidate or office holder who's going to fire-up airplanes or stack trains will illegal aliens to ship them back to countries of their origin, provided those illegals have been working, paying taxes and raising families here for decades without running afoul of our laws.

Mr. Trump is anything but a fool. He's not talking out of his rear-end.

He's also promised to build the fence and put the manpower there to actually STOP the influx of illegals. No other politician is making that promise, and the people are eating it up.

You don't build a $10 Billion dollar fortune by failing to read people and situations in life. Trump knows full well that he's struck a chord with the American people over the illegal immigration issue, but he's savvy enough to know that what he's proposing, so far, is about as far as he can comfortably take those in the mushy middle and the center left. Any further, and he'll lose them.

He may want to do more, but he's got to get elected first.

What *IS* the real figure now, anyway?

A Spanish-language Houston paper I saw said 51MM Hispanics in toto (of whom only 6% were actual Spaniard peninsulares), about 33 MM of whom are Mexicans. I forget the legal/illegal breakdown, but 50%+ would seem to be about right.

Yes, Census has been lying their asses off for years.

The New York papers sneered that he was actually only worth about $150MM, chickenfeed in their world. The implication was that Trump's a smalltimer, a nobody.

As is everyone except the e-GOP's anointed.

It's like eating an elephant: one bite at a time and save the "best" for last.

Winning WWII wasn't a viable option either if having a monumental task before you means you should take no action....

Trump is firing off salvos everyday in his speeches and tweets. He's taking no prisoners...on subjects that are taboo and no ONE politician has hit on, like Trump....

...Subjects like build the fence, secure our border patrol, take care of our vets, repeal 0bamaCare, stop the TPP...it's a BAD deal, stop the Iran deal...it's a BAD deal, defund Planned Parenthood, how 0bama and Kerry are throwing Israel under the bus, and on and on. He's done more for this country - even legislatively - than other DC politicians have, in decades.
