Donald Trump's Not Slowing Down: He's Up Big in New Hampshire, and Close in Iowa
nationaljournal.com ^ | Emily Schultheis

Belittling a longtime senator's military service is usually a good way to end a political campaign. In Donald Trump's case, a new set of polls out from NBC/Marist Sunday morning suggest it's not stopping the business mogul's rapid rise in the GOP field.

In New Hampshire, Trump comes in first with 21 percent; his closest competitor is Jeb Bush, who's at 14 percent. Scott Walker comes in third with 12 percent, then John Kasich at 7 percent, Chris Christie and Ben Carson at 6 percent and Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz at 5 percent.

And in Iowa, where Trump made his now-infamous comments about McCain earlier this month, the business mogul comes in a close second to Walker. Walker takes 19 percent in the poll, compared with Trump at 17 percent. They're followed by Bush (12 percent), Carson (8 percent), Huckabee (7 percent) and Rand Paul (5 percent).

The pair of polls were taken just as Trump was questioning McCain's war hero status at a GOP cattle-call event in Iowa. There, his support actually rose (within the margin-of-error) after he made the comments: he was getting 16 percent in the interviews conducted beforehand, compared with 18 percent in the ones done after. (The comments do seem to have hurt him in New Hampshire, though not enough to take him out of first place: he was getting 26 percent in the interviews before his McCain comments, compared with 14 percent afterward.)

GOPe’s heads are exploding.

If Trump wins the nomination, I expect the inside-the-beltway GOP politicians to support the Democrat.

South Carolina polls showing Trump tied for 1st are also being held back!

Horrible news for Bush!

NH is an open primary state so Jebbie has mostly Dem operatives crossing over so the Dems have that disaster at the top of the ticket.
The Dems have been doing it for awhile.

Snake Prebius knows that fact and the Gop elite like the arrangement .

By the way, Walker got Prebius the RNC job.

Thank Scotty for this tea party - conservative hater.

The sane is true for the Iowa

He is clearing the weeds for us to pick a true conservative.

Trump's in it to win it.

He's building strong county organizations in early states (he's got chairmen in each NH county already).

......illegal immigration IS THE MAIN WAY OBAMA INTENDS TO TRANSFORM AMERICA....

He is obsessed w/ leaving a legacy of a permanent Democrat majority.

As one pundit observed: Democrats win not b/c they change minds (the way its supposed to work)....

....but b/c the import the votes they need.

I’d have no problem with mainstreaming Vets into real hospitals, with VA picking up the tab for those with service connected health issues.

“If Trump wins the nomination, I expect the inside-the-beltway GOP politicians to support the Democrat.”

They will, by propping up someone to run Third Party. They did it to Oliver North in Virgina after he won the Republican Primary - and successfully gave the seat to the Democrats. They did it to Reagan with John Anderson, but Reagan was too strong and won anyway (as I believe that Trump can do too).

I suspect the same will happen with Trump (third party ‘Republican’ runs). Look at it this way: Keeping your job is always the FIRST PRIORITY:
1) If Hillary wins, the organization stays intact.
2) If Jeb wins, the organization stays intact.
3) If Trump wins, YOU’RE FIRED is the most likely outcome for the insiders and ‘advisers’ (most of them gay, by the way).

So a Jeb (or Rubio, or Walker) victory is best (no change in structure, but lots more jobs and chances to move up), a Hillary victory is second best (no change in structure or job count), and a Trump victory is the worst - a WHOLESALE FIRING of that bunch.

When Reagan won, there was ABJECT FEAR in the Republican Establishment for keeping their jobs, as nearly everyone had supported Bush and Reagan was the outsider. Unfortunately Reagan kept them around. Trump will not repeat that mistake.

"Department of Interior, (includes former Agriculture, and Transportation functions) - Gov. Palin"

And combine it with EPA and Dept of Energy and rename it: "The Department of Natural Resource Utilization"

Her duties would be.

* Reduce Mgt by 2/3'rd after combining.
* Staff reductions, 30 to 50%
* Hire the Rand Corp to look @ all regulation in the last 20 years from all three and do a cost benefit analysis and if it doesn't meet the muster it is lined-out.
* Kaizen event, and all other processes that Industry has had to adopt in the last 30 years to survive will be applied.

And sit back and watch Progressives heads metaphorically explode...

I just watched the Fox News Sunday panel discussion on Trump:

1.) George Will, after cleansing himself and emphasizing his objectivity by disclosing his wife works on the Walker campaign, savaged Trump, calling him uncouth and pointing out that when the facts come out about Trump contributing to Democratic candidates, etc., his appeal will vanish. The pure and objective George Will failed to mentionsthat Trump contributed about the same or maybe more to Republican candidates.

2.) Juan Williams claims that Trump has been destroying the Republican brand for the past six months. He failed to mention that polls (and Jim Jordan) say the Republicans are destroying their brand by reneging on campaign promises to stop Obama.

3.) Mike Wallace, in a quiet, regretful tone, ended the conservation by supporting what the above two claimed about Trump.

“Did you hear what Trump said about Hillary in Iowa yesterday?”

LOL...the idea that Trump is a plant for Hillary is getting a bit long in the tooth now. The next thing we’ll hear is that Trump’s job, as instructed by the Democrats, was ACTUALLY to drive Hillary out of the race, so that a cleaner candidate could replace her.

Don’t laugh, you heard from me first!

As I noted, he did this time. It is always a waste of breath.

Amen.

Mr Opportunist—the flailing Cruz—collapsed in the polls after stupidly trying to latch onto the soaring Trump aura.

At a recent “In Defense of Christians” event, Cruz was booed off the stage.....he demonstrated his appalling ignorance of the plight of Christians in the middle east.

The obsessively-opportunistic Cruz used the audience’s goodwill to promote his agenda, rather than comment on Christians’ plight....he was booed off the stage.
