The cops had just ordered two dozen donuts and coffee when the call came in. The union “donut rule” says cops are to be “allowed reasonable time to completely ingest all donuts/pastries and accompanying beverages” prior to leaving the provider’s shoppe.

The cool and calm of this 82 year old woman actually worked against her in this case. Refusing medical care and being able to get home on her own was probably why her call was downgraded. She should have told them she had a gun and had the perpetrator in her sights. They would have been out in a heartbeat.
