Republican Donors to Walker, Rubio and Bush: Boycott the Debate if Trump Participates
PJ Media ^ | 07-23-2015 | Michael van der Galien

The Republican Party’s donors have a brand new idea: let’s boycott those we disagree with! Will they never learn?

...

This means that those other candidates and the Republican Party’s leadership have to be smart about the way they deal with Trump. The best strategy is to … take him seriously. Yes, even when he’s bullying everybody else and saying outrageous things about them.

You see, Trump’s current popularity isn’t about him, but about conservative anger. Conservative voters are pissed beyond measure: they feel ignored by their party, they believe amnesty for illegal aliens is all but a done deal, and they’re angrier than heck about it. Who can blame them? I know I don’t.

Instead of vilifying Trump, other Republicans have to make clear that they understand conservatives’ anger and concerns. They have to start talking about the issues he has raised — illegal immigration and the crime related to it, first and foremost. That’s why I was glad to see that Senator Ted Cruz did exactly that:

Great, but — sadly — a large part of the GOP’s donor class and establishment don’t quite understand this:

Many national Republican officials are increasingly resigned to Mr. Trump’s looming presence. At a meeting of the Republican Governors Association this week in Aspen, Colo., donors and operatives mused about how to prevent him from hijacking the debate.

Two out of three of those guys would be there.

The other one... probably needs to come over here and explain to my yard guy I don’t want the bushes cut so short. Maybe they speak the same lingo.

This is exactly why Trump can’t take going third party off the table: he needs some leverage over the GOPe that’s trying so hard to do him in.

I definitely back Walker; no problem here. I also like other candidates as well. If Trump should commit a big boo boo or otherwise, fade in the race, the top spot is open.

Oh please boycott. No one wants to hear what they have to say anyway.

They don’t allow candidates in because they do poorly like Gary Johnson last time or Alan Keyes in the past, a great guy.

What would it accomplish to boycott the debate? That just means the next 3, Santorum, Kasich or whomever will now have a spot at the debate.

If Walker, Rubio and Bush are depending on GOPe money they will do their bidding.

These “Republican Donors” are crony capitalist using lobbyist to gain government largess for themselves or using the GOPe toadies to help them squash their competition because in reality they aren’t good Americans. They are worthless pieces of greedy human scum.

I’m not a big Trump fan. I think he’s all bombast and self-promotion. But at least he’s not afraid to give ‘em hell and won’t back down like 90% of the GOP.

I do know this - nothing, and I mean NOTHING, can be as bad as liberal Dems and RINO morons.

I’m sick and tired of being lied to by jerks like McCain, Romney, Bushes, etc. that pretend to be conservatives and stab us in the back as soon as the get elected or reelected.

And I know of what I speak, I live in the great state of TN that unfortunately has a bad habit of buying into the RINO crap every election cycle. Sure, we may be a “red state” but it’s all RINO all the time. Senators Alexander and Corker, most of the Reps, our spineless governor and most of the state legislature would sell us out to the Nazis for personal gain.

Apparently the GOPe feels “entitled.” Such arrogance is revealing. It is shameful. Sadly, it isn’t a surprise.

Almost certainly the Bush - Rove (American Crossroads) donors: Harold Smmons, John Childs, Perenchio from Univision, Bob Perry, et al

Adelson and the Kochs (and some others) aren’t real big Bush - Rove fans.

"From another thread-what would happen if Trump is kept out of the debate...."

"He could, on the next night, insert himself into the debate by filming it, then making a video in which he responds to each question, and to each answer from his erstwhile competitors."

"That is absolutely brilliant!"

Agreed- an excellent strategy in case the GOPe pulls any shenanigans.

(But anyway, how are they going to exclude Trump when he is polling as the number one choice of the GOP candidates?)

Also- how about having Rush Limbaugh host a debate? Or Mark Levin? Or Dana Loesch?

Heck I'd even love to see some sort of free form event where the candidates are able to discuss with one another what their ideas and thoughts are about our nation and the challenges we face- without buzzers and moderators cutting them off before they can finish their thoughts.

Why shouldn't we know as much as possible about these people who would be our leaders?

That was true for Perot, but recall the 2 party cartel’s reaction. They passed rules to all but deny a third party a chance to win. They exempted themselves from those same rules, of course.

Adelson and the Kochs are libertarians who support the illegal alien invasion, so I wouldn’t count them out.
Las Vegas has 750,000+ illegal aliens. That is why they were #1 in foreclosures for so long. The workers were let go and replaced with illegals.

You are correct, They are so afraid of what Trump and CRUS are saying that they have no way of stopping them except to try and keep them out of sight. Look at Fox, they don’t mention CRUS because he is not part of the GOPe. I am so fed up over the way things are going I quit watching Fox altogether.
The people are so upset the way this country is going that they are going to do something about it in 2016. I said it many times before and I’ll say it again, “ theres going to be a tsumani in my opinion and its not going to be for the Democrats or the Rinos”
