Donald Trump says the chances that he will launch a third-party White House run will absolutely increase if the Republican National Committee is unfair to him during the 2016 primary season.
The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy, the business mogul told The Hill in a 40-minute interview from his Manhattan office at Trump Tower on Wednesday. The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.
Pressed on whether he would run as a third-party candidate if he fails to clinch the GOP nomination, Trump said that so many people want me to, if I dont win.

Can anyone discern any difference between Jeb! and Hillary? Which ever one would win would be a win for the RNC.
“Running 3rd party will almost guarantee that the democrat will win.”
To paraphrase a State Farm Commercial...
Guy: ...You’d do that for me? Really!
Wife: Who is that.
Guy: Jake from The Uniparty.
Guy: *Sounds like a really good deal*.
Wife: Jake from The Uniparty at 3 in the morning!, WHO IS THIS??
Guy: It’s Jake from The Uniparty.
Wife: What are you running on “Jake from The Uniparty?”
Jake: Uh... we all believe the same things so...
Wife: She sounds hideous
Guy: Well they’re all Democrats so...
No, the Taj Mahal crashed & burn after. It was saved via a billionaire investor & Trump lost control over it.
Trump Plaza Hotel & Casino failed & is out of business.
Trump Entertainment is still in bankruptcy court.
You may want to reconsider your user name.
A Cruz victory could be the beginning of the end of the GOP as we now know it.
usually a third party threat happens after a primary loss.
This “threat” is more directed to the establishment kabuki GOP to back off and live by the rules.
Then you'll positively love my gem from the other day --
"Trump could advocate for seizing homes via eminent domain to pay for socialized medicine for union workers' abortions while yelling 'Hail, Satan!' and a bunch of people here would still scream about how "conservative" he is because he has, after decades, started to pay some lip service to immigration issues (although he favors amnesty)"
Well, every cycle we have the promise of some new party that will put a dent in the GOP or Democrats. It's not like people are setting up these parties with the goal of failing. They start off with much fanfare and then fizzle out. Just like whatever 3rd party a handful of conservatives get behind in 2016 which may be Trump's 3rd party. In the end he'll get a few % of the vote and simply help the Democrat (presumably Hillary) win the White House.
Our system is NOT designed for 3rd parties. It is a winner take all system with no opportunity for coalitions. The result of that will almost always be 2 viable parties. Not really sure why people don't get that. For those that don't like it (including myself), blame the founding fathers. They may have warned against faction and such, but they created a system that guaranteed 2 major party's are all that can really exist.
considiering he walked away WITH money in both of the first cases, seems like a win for him.
Staying in bankruptcy protection is just part of business and in the nature of a reorganization plan.
Thanks for playing.
Nearly ALL of the AC casinos have gone out of business in one way or another. The Revel was brand new just a few years ago and has already closed.
It’s not Trump. It’s the area, and competition from casinos in CT and PA affecting all casinos in AC.
Staying in bankruptcy protection is just part of business and in the nature of a reorganization plan.
Thanks for playing.
I see. Failing so bad you have to take your businesses to bankruptcy court 4 (or 5) times, steadily losing control over those businesses as a result, and using personal money to (try) and bail out at least one of them is now "success"
What if TRUMP/CRUZ jump on a third party ticket such as the United States Independent Party (USIP)?
The chance of USIP winning today is Not such a small chance as it would have been in past elections because of a huge relatively unreported change in voter affiliations.
They can do it and win. Many think it will be Perot deja-vu all over again; they would be wrong.
Since 1992 the electorate has changed and since 2012 there has been a seldom reported sea change in voter registration affiliations.
In 2008, 24% of the electorate identified themselves as Independent. After 2012 and by 2014 that number surged to 42% of the electorate identifying themselves as Independent. That is an ENORMOUS change and 2/3’s of those 42% identify themselves as conservatives with most of the rest as moderates or leaning conservative.
As a result of this huge growth in the ranks of Independents, there remain only 27% republican affiliated and 31% democrat affiliated.
Of the 27% republican registered, 18% are conservative base and the rest moderate or establishment, and the conservative base are mostly following Cruz and now Trump.
Of the democrats 31%, 8% (of electorate) are Latino-Americans and 5% (of electorate) are Reagan democrats. Trump/Cruz will take 40% of the Latino vote (as Cruz did in TX and Trump nearly polled in Nevada this week) and all of the Reagan democrats.
Cruz has also tapped into the 17 million apathetic but conservative-leaning Americans that dont bother to register or vote because they see a one-party system and correctly determine that the candidates offered represent the same Oligarchs. So they withdraw and stay quiet until they have had contact in town halls with Ted Cruz. Now they are fired up.
There is no danger of a Perot-like splinter of the GOP. There is the very real possibility that Trump/Cruz takes (in % of total electorate) 28% as Independents, 3% Latino-Americans, 5% of Reagan democrats, up to 18% of the GOP conservative base and millions more who are inspired for the first time in a generation to register and show up to vote.
No matter how it is sliced, Trump/Cruz leaves the democrats and GOPe at a loss in a 3-way race. If a 3rd party movement were to emerge, the only way to stop the above confluence of political realities is to fantasize that the democrats and republicans will merge officially < NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
But a 3rd Party movement is still in the fringe and will likely not happen. However, a merging of Trump and Cruz is very possible.
Don’t tell anyone, but he is running Third Party now.
He is hijacking the GOP.
Pray America is waking
Believe me, you'll see it.
Its the only way the dhimmis can win.
Only the lord knows what promises hitlery will make to the trump to get him to run 3rd party, but it will be substantial.
Sure, split the vote, and Clinton wins Texas. Turn off the lights, we’re done here.
Great idea. If the GOPe wants to go the way of Bush orbanither RINO they do it without me. Trump/Cruz 2016
Perot version 2.0
Supportive.... does he expect the RNC to back him in the primary or something.
lol
He can run in any party he wants since he beliefs seem to change on a dime whenever its convenient
Someone needs to start a conservative party to get rid of the GOPE
Dont tell anyone, but he is running Third Party now.
