Exclusive: Trump threatens third-party run
The Hill ^ | July 23, 2015 | Kevin Cirilli and Bob Cusack

Donald Trump says the chances that he will launch a third-party White House run will “absolutely” increase if the Republican National Committee is unfair to him during the 2016 primary season.

“The RNC has not been supportive. They were always supportive when I was a contributor. I was their fair-haired boy,” the business mogul told The Hill in a 40-minute interview from his Manhattan office at Trump Tower on Wednesday. “The RNC has been, I think, very foolish.”

Pressed on whether he would run as a third-party candidate if he fails to clinch the GOP nomination, Trump said that “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.”

Why did I read that Trump declared that he will not run 3rd Party. Has he changed his mind once again? Or is this an old article?

he is winning the primary (if held today) why would we take this as anything other than a warning to the GOP leaders to not change the rules.

Lindsay Graham wan on MSNBC, the favorite channel of Washington DC, complaining about the Debate rules since he does not make the cut.

Inconclusive. Look, we all want a shakeup of the GOP, while at the same time understanding the HRC-guaranteed win it would produce >>if it actually happened<<.

I remain:

1: Very entertained by Trump, glad he’s doing what he’s doing.
2: Not willing to speculate nor worry about every item of minutiae for the next 16 momths.

Those are just my opinions.

Whatever shakeup of the GOP occurs or does not occur WILL NOT BE PRETTY. It will be enormously chaotic.

That said, IMO it still has to be considered entertainment and the idea that anyone can predict the future based upon how Trump combs his hair is just plain silly. Let the medias heads explode. No need for ours to do so.

And Bushies are butt-hurt because donations have slowed to a trickle since Jebbie has plunged to 3rd place in the polls.

Okay I thought a couple days of he said he would run as a Republican or not at all. Did I miss hear him?

Easy for Trump to worm his way around that statement. He can always just say "I am still running as a Republican, but just not in their party because they are all stupid and only I know how to get things done because I make great deals and oh yeah, the vets love me and I'm going to build them the greatest hospitals in the world right after I force Mexico to build a multi-billion dollar wall....."

There is nothing Trump says that is believable. He changes positions and the people he supports more than Obama, Hillary and every spineless Republican "moderate" combined.

Not to defend Trump but he didn’t say he would just that “so many people want me to, if I don’t win.”

I see this as a strategic move. Telling the GOP to play fair with him. Because if they don’t...well who knows what he might do because they can’t control him.

reorganization and they came out fine.

How often have airlines done the same?

Few airlines do liquidation programs.

Besides, we need an elected representative that enacts solutions to problems not manipulates issues into votes.

As long as Trump is challenging the GOPe, it’s good. If jebbush or Rubio or some other rino is the nominee, I’ll vote for Trump ir he goes third party.

In fact, if we have jebbush win the GOPe, we have to have a 3rd party; it’s really a 2nd party and the only way to break up the uni-party coalition of Demoncrats and rinos.

There is a remote chance that people will be fed up with both republicans and democrats and be willing to vote third party, but I don’t think the Donald is the person that can do it.

Unlike Boehner and McConnell, he knows how to play poker.

Thanks. It took eleven posts for common sense to prevail.

Great cycle for an independent run by third parties, according to Martin Armstrong, who tracks these things worldwide.

It is the only leverage he has over the RINO party other than winning. If they continue to try to sabotage him, I think he should form an “outside DC” kind of part to run on...

Yeah, I’m with you on your opinion on Trump, but, damn, he’s doing some really good stuff and taking it to the people who need it taken to! I have to admit I have some admiration for the man, and I never would have thought that possible.

I mean a Party that actually gets some votes. I mean a Party that actually puts a dent in the GOP. I mean something with legs. I assumed that would be assumed. Guess not.

For a Third Party that can dent, hard, the GOP is our only chance of changing it. The “change from with in” canard has grown old.

Having said that, my last line agrees with yours ... this is NOT going to happen in a serious way. Both parties are owned with a whole lot more money than you or I. Indeed that is why I said about Trump ...

I’ll believe it when I see it.

“By tomorrow, Trump will be running as a Democrat. Next week as a Green. The week after a Libertarian.”

That kind of over-the-top snark is getting tedious.

lol. Yeah, it’s like watching one of those old cartoons where the fireworks goes off in an enclosed space, bounces around, and sends everyone scattering. It’s awful fun, and funny, to watch, but I’m not going in there because it sure ain’t gonna end pretty for anyone ... including the fireworks.
