Angie's List Inc. said Wednesday its revenue grew 11%, but it was less than analysts had expected as gross paid membership additions fell 27% for the services marketplace and consumer-review company.
Despite seeing revenue growth, Angie's List has posted mostly losses since going public in 2011, as expansion efforts have ratcheted up costs.
In the most recent quarter, Angie's List booked a loss of $8.3 million, or 14 cents a share, compared with a loss of $18.4 million, or 31 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue grew to $87.3 million from $78.9 million.

I wonder what happens with AL re: after trouble contact.
Spam email, unsolicited email for anything related to your problem, or not for that matter.
I made the mistake of asking free HomeAdvisor.com for some contacts and have been completely inundated with useless spam sh!t of all kinds.
Good. These companies need to realize they cannot sit there and run interference for the leftists without ramifications. The tradition of business staying out of political issues is one that needs to be revived. The confluence of the leftist media in concert with large businesses is a real challenge to withstand. The Indiana case is the best I’ve seen with the pending Final Four and the actions of Salesforce, Angies List and others.
Big supporter of Democrats and homo-marriage. Tough to serve such a small population.
I signed up for them a couple of months back.. they showed me an “A” rating for a local plumber...
Then I looked at all his reviews- no one gave him higher than a C+ and there were many complaints.
I called them and raised heck and they immediately cancelled my account at my request- after offering me a half price discount
Hmmm.. I have not checked to see if they refunded my money, I probably should.
Could it have anything to do with the fact that Angie only supports pro choice ( murder) candidates?
right on
Serves them right for supporting hillary and other anti-American candidates.
Avoid Angie’s list like the plague...just like PRogressive insurance and Macy’s
Angie’s Cist...good enough for the pervert promoters.
AL is a total scam. Nothing but a bunch of extreme left-wing pump-n-dump lefties hoping to make a company look good on paper then sell it.
Besides its’ leftist bent, it is a redundant service that costs serious money in order to check up on potential companies. Most Angie’s List listed companies are also listed on Yelp, for free, and can be tracked with a simple Google search. Add in that in most instances the Angie’s List companies also tend to be the most expensive and not by a little.
Actually, not quite the story but close. Jordan, a registered Democrat, was being asked to take a more high-profile role in public support of Democrat candidates. . .each time asked, Jordan declined. When asked why, as a Democrat, he didn't want to publically endorse Democrat candidates, he responded with the cited quote, "because Republicans buy shoes too!"
I hate those Progressive ads. They're on about every other commercial and every channel. I try to DVR programs to cut through commercials especially Progressive commercials.
Angie’s List is a joke. Just check out a few contractors with your own BB&B for free. In addition to that do a general web search on any contractor or supplier. If someone has a gripe it is bound to come up if they don’t change their name every other week.
And Starbucks ...
I have had 500 offers for a garafpge door tune up or roof inspection, yet not a single one for a plumber or electrician. It is rare even to get offers for common needs like rain gutter cleaning.
The fact is, Angies List is just not very useful for the work you need. It is more teaser than value.
