The president who pledged to transform America has picked his next target in the country’s makeover: the suburbs.
Obama the Utopian hopes to use both the federal Treasury and the federal club to coax Americans into neighborhoods planned by bureaucrats to perfectly reflect the nation’s diversity.
The Obama administration’s long-awaited new housing regulations came out Wednesday giving the federal government more tools to make sure neighborhoods around the nation aren’t developed and populated in racially segregated manners.
The rules, issued under the Department of Housing and Urban Development, are supposed to put a stop to “segregated living patterns” and “racially or ethnically concentrated areas of poverty,” HUD said, the Hill reported.
How it works is HUD will give local communities information on how to prevent and address perceived segregated housing areas, and offer grant money to address the situation. The grant money could then be used to help diversity the neighborhoods and “expand equal access to opportunity for all Americans,” HUD said, the Hill reported.
HUD Secretary Julian Castro put it this way: “Unfortunately, too many Americans find their dreams limited by where they come from, and a ZIP code should never determine a child’s future. This important step will give local leaders the tools they need to provide all Americans with access to safe, affordable housing in communities that are rich with opportunity.”
Critics, however, call the carrot-stick trade-off of government regulations for grant dollars a prime example of federal overreach.

It’s the ultimate revitalizing the cities scam where inner cities are designed as a place to live and work by the elite for the elite.
Hollywood writers don’t come up with movie scripts depicting elites living in luxurious cities free of all the problems of the people living in poverty outside the cities.
The Hollywood writers are just depicting what the liberal elites have dreamed of for years which is why they always depict it as the right wing elites who want to live in luxury while everyone else lives in poverty with all it’s problems.
this is about funding litigation the way Obama did with the banks being force to lend to low value neighborhoods. (when Obama was a failed lawyer working as a community organizer)

Actually, lots of them do want to live among white people. We have lots of people move to the Appalachian hills to get away from the crime-ridden cities.
It is far better to live in a trailer park than a housing project.

I’m watching this unfold in formerly conservative Spokane. The idiots on the City Council declared this a sanctuary city a year ago. Before that, I already had three run-ins with Hispanic gang members in my “lovely” area, one who attempted murder an hour later — a block away from my apt.
Last weekend, a friend pointed out new apartments in my area for “low income” subsidized renters. I can only imagine who will move in. Some genuinely nice but poor people, but others…? I wouldn’t be surprised to see it fill up with formerly illegal aliens. Plus, we are, I’m told, having a spike in Arabic immigrants.
Need to get to self-defense-for-women classes at the gym posthaste. (Fellow teaching is a black former Marine that I utterly and absolutely trust and admire. ) And closest gun club has wonderful classes too….long waiting list. My friend on the Symphony board goes there.

You nailed it. The real effort here is to undermine the expert job of gerrymandering that the GOP did after the 2010 midterms. Turn all of the solidly GOP neighborhoods to squishy purple and you end the GOP death grip on the House.

It is all to destroy unity. Divide and Conquer (Alinsky—Marxism). (Group people to create hate (Sex Ed and multiculturalism in schools/diversity training-—it only creates self-hate and hate of others, because children are immature by nature, and have the ability to truly love the “Self” (Same) . Normal formation in latency is for boys to prefer boys and girls to prefer girls-—so they can love self-—THEN at puberty, they have the ability to love the “Other”-—if there is mystery (dignity), wonder, etc. (Romance and true love (selflessness) is Christian ethics).
You have to be mature to truly “love the Other” (true diversity). That maturity is learned and habituated. AND the Other has to be virtuous. Without Virtue, there is no civil society—no Freedom possible—no associations, etc. Culture collapses and government can easily take over.
It is evil people, people of no Virtue, who they move into these cities-—to collapse civil society.
Tocqueville stated that the power in the USA was in individuals in small towns and bigger cities who VOLUNTARILY form associations and “groups” which make them powerful.—like the garden club, the Lion’s Club-—etc. You practice leadership and camaraderie and form deep friendships-—people need others for the ability to fight government. It is costly and emotionally taxing.
Destroy the communities by forcing in people who have no Virtue and you collapse that area......and make everyone stay locked in their place and fearful who can’t do anything about an intrusive government when they come in and take your guns,, etc.
Am betting an uprising if he tried to force whites into black neighborhoods.
By the way, congress could uphold funding but I don't have any confidence in the GOPe.
