Without addressing the allegations against Bill Cosby directly, President Obama Wednesday all but called the comedian a rapist during a White House press conference. Asked at a news conference whether he believes Cosby should be stripped of the Medal of Freedom he was awarded back in 2002, Obama initially sidestepped the issue by saying he doesnt comment on cases where there might yet be criminal or civil charges and that he wasnt even sure how the medal could be taken away. Theres no precedent for revoking a medal. We dont have that mechanism, the president said. But then, days after news broke that Cosby admitted to purchasing pills with the intent of giving the pills to women before sex, Obama said this: "If you give a woman, or a man, for that matter, a drug and then have sex with that person without consent? That's rape. And I think this country, or any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape."
I think you need to read the Constitution. I don’t remember it saying anything about giving or revoking medals.
“And I think this country, or any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape.”
Well that rules out muslim countries.
I wonder what Bill Clinton’s thoughts are on this?
It doesn’t of course. They’d have to figure that one out, heh. A quandary.
We should not tolerate any @$$ in the White House using the Constitution as toilet paper.
Ask EVERY Democrat:
If Obama KNEW then what he KNOWS now, would he have glorified Bill Cosby with the Presidential Freedom Medal and should he ask for it back now?
I thought Bush gave Cosby that medal, not Obama.
Bush was the one who awarded the medal to Cosby, but if one of his medals could be revoked it would set a precedent for others to be revoked regardless of who awarded it, and Obama has awarded it to people who are less deserving than those selected by most presidents.
