What’s the deal with Donald Trump?
He can’t possibly think he has a chance against a dozen highly qualified candidates, all but one of whom have held elective office, from governor to senator, for years. He must know that after a tiny pop in the polls over the silly summer season (remember Howard Dean?), he’ll tumble back down to earth and disappear.
True, Mr. Trump couldn’t care less how embarrassing he is — to the Republican Party, sure, but also to himself. He’s an egotistical narcissist just blowing some of his $7 billion while in between tapings of his god-awful show “The Apprentice.” Might as well run for president.
But something else seems afoot. Mr. Trump is starting to look like a Democratic plant — and some top Republicans are starting to say so.

The phrase ‘couldn’t care less” disqualifies his article as the phrase should be written “could care less” by anyone with valid credentials as a journalist. The entire slam job shows his support of the RINO Establishment,in which the American people have no more faith and have had enough.
Trump never had a boss in his entire adult life. I have doubts he will want one at age 70 (he is 69 this year).
Trump has admitted he is for socialized medical care for everyone who cannot afford to pay for it themselves.
“Immigration is one of the things you have to do. I’m also a moralist. You heard what I said today about health care. I said, I’m sorry, folks, but we have to take care people that don’t have money. I know it’s not the conservative thing to say, but I got a standing ovation — and these were very conservative people. We can’t let people down when they can’t get any medical care, when they’re sick and don’t have money to go to a doctor. You help them”.
I don’t know believe that Trump’s vision for health care is a conservative notion. To tell the truth ... to me there is nothing about Trump that is conservative. Trump is a loud blow hole exploiting an issue and taking the air out of the room for serious candidates.
Trump is laughing his backside off at the amount of attention he is getting from the media. It’s flipping ridiculous that people take Trump serious. Fruit loop time.
Just glad that he will peak early and mosey on to something else. Can’t come soon enough.

We'll, some of these folks are clearly attempting to put the Bush dynasty over the top. But it's not going to happen this time around. Not by a long shot.
I can live with any idiocy Trump comes up with if it gets the serious candidates to state their positions on the critical issues.

Most of the 16 declared candidates could be considered “democrats” along with their,ahem,esteemed colleagues in Congress.
They have to be because they have made sure Obama gets what he wants when he wants it.
Most of America are narcissists So what if Trump is, too.
This writer calls all the other candidates “qualified” because they’ve been elected to office. Was George Washington elected to office prior to winning the presidency? These so called writers need to look up the qualifications to be president. Be American born and 35 years old and you’re qualified. Which means Obama wasn’t qualified. But I am and so are most who post here. And so is Trump.
We have both had it with the 'professional' politicians.

what makes you so sure he caught a real wave? Some of the same people that constantly trash the accuracy of MSM polls suddenly believe they are accurate when it comes to the Donald. I do not know whether they are accurate or not .. I just find the hypocrisy interesting.
Trump is a wild card. Every time he opens his mouth and says something nutty, I am less inclined to vote for him.
As Doug Giles put it today: “I would have never thought that a junior state senator from Illinois who’s only accomplishment was writing two books about himself and being a community organizer for a non-profit group that was cool with giving home loans for whorehouses for underage sex-slaves from El Salvador would’ve ever gotten to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, but he did.”
Trump existed before this year, its not a secret.
