The world's largest Baptist university, Baylor, has dropped language in its sexual misconduct policy that punished those who engaged in homosexual acts, a change the socially conservative school said better reflects its values as "a caring community."
Baylor, in the central Texas city of Waco, had been one of a handful of religious U.S. colleges and universities that allowed for the dismissal of students, and sometimes staff, for homosexuality.
Baylor has removed "homosexual acts" as a punishable offense in its sexual misconduct policy, an official said on Tuesday. The policy also mandated disciplinary action for sexual assault, incest, adultery and fornication.
"These changes were made because we didn't believe the language reflected the university's caring community," Baylor spokeswoman Lori Fogleman wrote in an email.

Yes, it seems to be infecting every denomination.
It would not surprise me to learn the Obola Administration put out the word there would be no student loans until this was removed.
A few weeks ago, I saw Chobani yogurt announced they supported gay marriage. Two weeks later, it was announced they are now distributing yogurt in the school lunch program.
I can connect the dots.
Actually, it’s OK. All one has to do is claim the other sex really identifies as the same sex, may even want to get a sex-change surgery to be a transexual, so it’s all good now.
“Yep, Southern Baptists have been pretty flakey for years.”
Yeah, that is why the SBC took a stand (again) against homosexuality:
The living former Southern Baptist Convention presidents elected since 1980 issued a joint statement Wednesday declaring they will stand on the biblical truths concerning marriage despite anticipated legal and civil changes to the definition. Pastor Jack Graham called it the most critical issue of our times — religious freedom and the very definition of marriage itself.
Current SBC President Ronnie Floyd led the press conference and was joined on the platform by former SBC presidents Jimmy Draper, Bailey E. Smith, Paige Patterson, James Merritt, Jack Graham, Frank S. Page, Bryant Wright and Fred Luter.
Reading from the statement, Graham said, “The Scriptures’ teaching on marriage is not negotiable. We stake our lives upon the Word of God and the testimony of Jesus. We will not accept, nor adhere to, any legal redefinition of marriage issued by any political or judicial body including the United States Supreme Court.”
The statement, signed by 16 former presidents, was not issued on behalf of the SBC but issued to the SBC, evangelicals and the nation, Graham said.
The statement reiterates the long-established SBC stand on homosexuality and same-sex marriage but was issued as a proactive response to the impending U.S. Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriage expected by the end of the month...
...Paige Patterson, president of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, said, “We are urging every college, university and seminary to be crystal clear in their bylaws and in their operational manuals about what is and is not acceptable. We never saw this day coming but we are urging all to be very, very clear.” “

Yeah, there was incredible thumb-screw leverage applied here.
Which is why one must wonder why there are so many anti-Papists on FR. It seems the only denominations standing against the homosexuals are Catholics, Mormons and black churches. The others willingly have that shoved down their throats.
The sects trim themselves to better fit the new worldly trends. This shows that the sects are self sufficient and do not need a “God.”
I attended Baylor my first year of college. It was full of pagans, even back in the early 80’s. I was surprised because you basically had to submit a convincing Christian testimony on your application. My dorm roommate was a virtual devil.
And all this was tolerated.
So what IS sexual misconduct now?
LOL!!!! Surely you /sarc.
I recall something out of the Mormons about the time of Romney agreeing with gay boyscouts that makes me think they’re not necessarily as solid as one might think.
Heterosexual sex without a notarized, legal contract detailing allowable acts and duration thereof. /sarc
At least there’s no chance of pregnancy this way.
Evil reigns and the barbarians make the rules.
What was that? Prop 8 with the homosexual marriage thing in California a few years back? I thought the Mormons were against it?
Please don't give them suggestions...
“Go and sin some more”?
Lester Roloff had their number years ago when he denounced his alma mater for honoring Harry Truman, because of his cursing. Considering how bad he thought that was, I can imagine what he’d think of them now. Lukewarm, and they’ll be spit out.
In other news, sales of hand baskets are on the rise.
