Donald Trump fires back at 'hypocrite' Miss Universe pageant winner
Business Insider ^ | 07/05/2015 | Colin Campbell

Real-estate magnate and presidential candidate Donald Trump blasted another one of his critics early Sunday morning.

Trump said the reigning Miss Universe pageant winner, Colombia's Paulina Vega, was a "hypocrite" for criticizing him without giving up her award.

"Miss Universe, Paulina Vega, criticized me for telling the truth about illegal immigration, but then said she would keep the crown-Hypocrite," Trump, who helps run the pageant, tweeted at roughly 5 a.m.

According to the Associated Press, Vega said last Thursday that Trump's controversial comments about Mexico were "hurtful and unfair" but she had no intention of giving up her crown "because the Miss Universe organization does meaningful social work in communities around the world."

She was referring to comments made during the Republican businessman's June 16 campaign launch, in which he railed against Mexico for supposedly sending its "rapists" and drug runners to the US.

At least Trump speaks the truth and doesn’t try to pander to the illegal aliens that are streaming across our borders at a breakneck pace.

Pandering is exactly what he did when he said...

"...people here illegally should have "a road to legal status" if they work hard and contribute to the country."

No, the full context of what he said is that he’d create a “system of merit,” saying people here illegally should have “a road to legal status” if they work hard and contribute to the country.

His recent comments are exactly right. Is Mexico, assuming that is where they are all from, sending us their best and brightest? Am I supposed to buy into the dims “they only want a better life” line of BS?

The full context doesn't change the meaning. He is still saying that people here illegally (read illegal aliens) should have “a road to legal status” (that means amnesty) if they work hard and contribute to the country and that is pandering.

Am I supposed to buy into the dims “they only want a better life” line of BS?

I don't buy it either. But if we take Trump on his word all these ILLEGAL invaders need do is work, be productive and they qualify. Once they qualify they then get what...entitlements? Voting rights?

Offering amnesty to ILLEGAL aliens was full scale pandering at its worst. But Trump did it.

jeez. this guy can’t stop talking or tweeting. and people are suddenly all too eager to eat this crap up.

I ignored this retarded, self obsessed blowhard before he ran for president. I’m ignoring him twice as hard now.

LOL! Your reply here is your proof of ignoring him I guess.

You’re tying to ignore him by writing about him and posting on threads about him?

I too noted that oddity.☺

Those suggesting this is all petty criticism which should be ignore are questionable at best. This is big time politics at it's ugliest. He's in a political campaign where it's common to defend against slander. But this time it's malicious slandered for using truth.

We know Trump didn't start any of this. His political opponents did and they went national with malicious slanders and slurs. All stemming from Trump's presidential announcement speech. They hate the truth.

They're hoping for continued on-going chorus on this same issue from celebrities, liberal networks etc. These attacks were predicted.

Trump was right about the lady from Columbia. She's a hypocrite. It's why he continued to defend himself against MSM's latest celebrity who decided to go political. She had lots of help and coaxing in forming her decision to go political. Promises of favor abound. And she had no intention of giving up her crown and losing that Miss Universe prize package which is quite substantial by any measure.

Trump is right. If she was really offended, then she would step down. Oh but she is not THAT offended to give up all the goodies! of being Miss Universe.

So I guess her country, Columbia, welcomes all law breaking illegal immigrants with loving arms, let them have welfare and allows them to vote? Yeah right....

If Miss Universe actually spent the time addressing this real issue instead of attacking the messenger, then perhaps crime may be might not be so bad?

then be as thin skinned as he obviously is

Just as you know how his firing back brings him to the top, you also know he isn't being thin skinned.

I chose a wife who is from a family where most have that similar trait, being very protective of their ideals.

I've learned that when taking issue with one of those ideals, I better dig in, 'cuz they fight tooth and nail to defend them. Plus the other family members will close rank, and then there is a real discussion going on.

It's an admirable trait to be born with, as it appears Trump was. Except for Cruz and Walker, it appears none of the other GOP candidates have it either.

In spite of medias best efforts, it seems the general public is seeing it as I do, these responses you call 'thin skinned' are instead a spirited defense of Trumps ideals.

extrapolating Mexican rapists to all Mexicans is like extrapolating Black knock out gamer’s or thugs to all blacks

or, am i wrong and the extrapolation is valid?

I would behave been much more forgiving of miss Colombia’s response had it been delivered in the form of interpretive dance. Beyond that however, one wonders what she is doing outside of the kitchen?

*INCOMING*

Yes, my Colombiana wife will see this and have something to say about it... ; )

Say what you will people, this election season has been a fun one so far. Trump is entertaining if nothing else.

"You will find no bigger critic of Bush than I am."

I beg your pardon but I've been bashing W since before he was elected President of the USA. I knew he was an enpty suit and repeatedly warned folks on FR NOT to vote W in the primaries. Oh well, I was right, W was the worst GOP president ever and one of the all time worst ever. If you voted W in the primaries hang your head in shame. You were warned.

Trump is basically saying the same thing as Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. Paul and Cruz are the two most conservatives of all the folks seeking the job of President. Both say that after the border is secure they would provide a path to legal status (not citizenship). There is no “deport them all” candidate running as of yet.

Trump is basically saying the same thing as Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.

Trump is a lifelong liberal democrat. Paul and Cruz are not. Anything Trump says is not believable.

Paul and Cruz are the two most conservatives of all the folks seeking the job of President. Both say that after the border is secure they would provide a path to legal status (not citizenship).

Liberal Donald Trump's offer of a "path to legal status" equates to amnesty. Cruz has stated he is opposed to amnesty. There is an enormous difference in the two.

There is no “deport them all” candidate running as of yet.

There is another option. Enforce our laws, punish employers for hiring them. If there are no jobs they will go home.

I never liked him either. And I, too, warned people here then just as I am warning them about LIFELONG LIBERAL democRAT Donald Trump. They didn't listen then. They're not listening now.

Actually, yes he is. The man can't take even the slightest of criticism. He's almost as bad as jugears.

Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz’s office on Friday indicated the Texas senator remains open to a path to legal status for undocumented workers, putting him at odds with conservatives who deride such a position as unacceptable “amnesty.”

Cruz, Paul and Trump all have pretty much the same position on illegal immigration. But Trump is making it a center piece to his campaign.

It is early in the process, way to early to commit to a candidate yet. Trump might very well flame out as he seems a bit thin skinned, Cruz’s lack of experience could fatally wound him too as he almost blew his campaign on TPA. He is lucky he got chance to “correct” his position on TPA, lol.
