True, altho on the Federal level, it almost always works....because that’s the biggest tax load. I think it’s less predictive on the state and local level.
For example: I could have my state taxes cut by, say, a huge 25% - but it would still be just a rounding error compared to my Federal taxes.
Kansas has not cut spending, except some in the agencies. The big three; Medicaid, govt worker pensions, and K-12 are still out of control. Legislature too timid to really go after them. The local press lies about this daily. Kansas has not, in any real way, cut spending.
Maybe the Chicago Tribune should spend their time lecturing ILLINOIS (their state of residence) how to get out of the massive hole they’re in?

If memory serves, Wisconsin had a lower unemployment rate than the most of the surrounding states in 2011. If that is correct, they could not have added a higher percentage of jobs in the time period the Chicago Tribune are touting.
Good point; here in NJ our economy is in the tank because private-sector jobs are fleeing while the government workfare programs (teachers in particular) are dragging the taxpayers down.
We don’t need more government employees; we need more private-sector employees to share the costs of our government-worker caste.

Wisconsin compares well to the other comparable states in its region. To be sure, it’s not #1. But, it’s clearly in second place. As for MN, it has a different economic model, one based on the high tech sector.
Wisconsin didn’t create as many new jobs, percentage-wise, during the prior five years as other states in its region, because it didn’t lose as many during the recession.
Regarding the budget, state agencies make their requests directly to the legislature. They typically ask for the sky. The legislature deals with these requests in the context of having to balance the budget. This is normal for the state. There is no budget crisis. That a total fabrication of the liberal media. The legislature has a budget that has a small surplus.
At the federal level, the Office of Management and Budget, part of the executive branch, deal with spending requests from agencies prior to the President submitting a budget to Congress. Presumably, the President wants a deficit that is appropriate, such as a balanced budget in good years and a budget with a small deficit in bad years. But, this hasn’t meant anything since Obama became President.
Ah, yes, the two billion dollar deficit lie right at the top. Don’t need to read any more if they are starting with that lie.

Reducing tax rates does not reduce the revenue flow, and in most cases, the revenue flow increases.
When RR reduced the tax rate from 78% to 28% the revenue into the treasury DOUBLED.
It seems obvious that you do not understand the difference between tax rates and revenue flow.

Wisconsin has been creating jobs at about half the national average. Walker promised 250,000 jobs and there has been about half that.
Wisconsin lost more jobs in May than any other state. They are losing more middle class households than any other state.
The WEDC that Walker created and Chaired lost 2 jobs for every job created, primarily because the companies that received funds outsourced jobs overseas.

These stats are misleading. MN is only doing better because we have the ND Bakken oil fields which are influencing all the employment stats in MN except for the fringe along the Iowa border.
Even the area along the Mississippi River near Winona is getting business from fracking as they produce the sands that are used to frack.
Liberals are such short-sighted people. They have no understanding of manufacturing, growth of wealth, etc.
So what? Minnesota and North Dakota have lower unemployment rates than Wisconsin, but they don’t have the dismal jobs performance of Wisconsin.
The unemployment rate of Wisconsin, just as the national unemployment rate, does not reflect those who have stopped looking. The poor stats on jobs, salaries and the middle class still stand and will still be an issue in the campaign, as will the abysmal failure of the WEDC which Walker created and Chaired.

Minnesota has followed a smart strategy of high-tech for years. Since Wisconsin’s unemployment is at nearly full employment levels, it does not reflect on Walker.
