I finally figured out just exactly why I'm enjoying Donald Trump's Presidential campaign so much, even though I don't particularly think very well of him or his politics. It is best illustrated by a fantastic clip from the Jim Carrey film Liar, Liar. For the uninitiated, the film is about a divorced lawyer with an adorable little boy who he constantly disappoints by not showing up when he promises and other letdowns due to Carrey's penchant for lying. The boy makes a birthday wish that his father would have to tell the truth and it works.
Cut now to the posh law office as Carrey is ushered into a conference room where rows of law partners line the sides of the conference table with the big kahuna sitting at the head. Carrey is asked to give his opinion about the partner and tells him what he really thinks in technicolor. The partner sits frozen for several long moments while everyone holds their breath expecting him to fire Carrey on the spot, etc. Instead, he bursts out laughing and invites Carrey to give more "candid" assessments of the people in the room. So, Donald Trump is the Fletcher of this campaign and I'm going to enjoy watching him skewer as many politically correct sacred cows and spineless RINOs as possible. Please pass the popcorn
