“......She said the suspect was a thin, black man wearing green and white.
She said he was agitated and seemed desperate.......”
Maybe an Amish Tweeker. Anyway it was “Breaking Bad” for him that day in Olde Albuquerque Towne
.357 mag here.......hollow points
He's probably a 'former' lot of things now.
Why would they be staying at a Motel 6?

Motel 6 ... there is a reason Tom Bodett leaves the light on.
The De Caros are now drug dealers rather than reporters
I don’t often run into such people at The Waldorf Astoria, I can tell you that.
Motel 6. They didn’t leave that perp’s lights on for long.
The wife and I often stay at motel six there was only one I felt very uncomfortable around one. That was in the Phoenix area.
I let the clerk get a look at my open carried Glock 23 and few of the hangers around types. They took a good look also had no trouble but I was glad when we left.
Ya know a lamp with an incandescent bulb is cheaper to run....
Yes. Story says both licensed (but not necessary in NM; you may have a gun in your home or your vehicle without a permit).
Nope- they lit him up.
I agree. They were just "askin' for it."
One of their mistakes was trying to calm the perp down. Once you realize you are in a violent situation the first to act has the odds in their favor. That’s a tough decision to reach when most of our training, experiences and culture call for de-escalation rather than making that snap decision to escalate to deadly force first.
When driving long distances, occasionally it is necessary to just find a bed and a shower. The last time I stayed at a Motel 6 was after being on the road for 10-hours with another 8 to go...just a place to crash for a few hours and a shower.
As always, I was well-armed.
Need more range time, dude..................
