Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says there's not much Congress can do in the wake of the ruling by the Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage.

In an interview Tuesday night on Kentucky television station WDRB, McConnell restated that he still holds to the traditional view of marriage.

"I’ve always felt that marriage is between one man and one woman and the Supreme Court has held otherwise. That’s the law of the land," the Kentucky Republican said.

When he was asked if there is anything Congress can do, he answered: "I don’t think so. I think the courts have pretty well spoken."

However, McConnell said he is now concerned about "the potential problems with regard to religious liberty."

The modern GOPe refuses to get out in front on any issue.

They’d much rather claim impotence and shift the blame to the Democrats and/or courts.

Then they ask for campaign money to keep Republicans in office so they can “prevent” these type of things from happening in the future.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Congress can remove jurisdiction from the Supreme Court to rule on the issue of marriage.

The Republicans want the homo vote. The homos can't reproduce. They have more campaign money.

It's not about the American people any more. It's about the politicians keeping their lives of power and luxury. They like their mansions, fine wines, caviar, world wide vacations and limousines. They're not going to let the heteroperfect peasants stand in their way.

Make them EARN your vote. No more free handouts!

If you are a social conservative, what do they have to do to make it any plainer that they don't care about your vote? The votes of people like you and me just get in the way of what they care about, which is entrenching their own power and enriching themselves with the help of they help to enrich. Many spokesmen for the GOP have said as much for years now. They are building other avenues to get votes, and it is not too far a bridge to cross to believe that the self-appointed elites of both right and left are complicit in this power-sharing scheme. We (social conservatives) were useful for a time, we're not now. That's all there is to it. Not only didn't they stop sodomite "marriage", and throw Bible-believing Christians to the wolves, they don't even talk about overturning Roe v Wade anymore. They willingly and with no show of opposition turned our military-our first line of defense!-over to the sodomites and their complicit traitors.

Um... it could undertake tort reform and limit monetary damages over things like hurt feelings. That might be helpful.

Maybe we should stop giving it to them. Let them sink or swim on their own. They seem to think they can do without us, so let's see.

Make them EARN your vote for a change.

Half of Congress is one kind of sexual deviant or another. Including lots and lots of queers.

Next perversion up for "norming" looks like it will be one that DC is already getting started with....

As if supporting McConnell for reelection weren't bad enough, less than 1 year ago, while in his 60s, Donald Trump did not have the average 8th grader's working knowledge of the US congress. He actually thought there was a "SPEAKER" in the senate.

And this is the man so many here want to be their next president? Oh, that's right, he has hi sown money and he says Mexicans are rapists.

Incredible.

The Court legislated from the bench ... they amended the Constitution from the bench ... and the Legislative Branch has nothing to say?

Well, far too many "conservative" members of the House and Senate voted to retain the current leadership!

no, but we’d still have same sex marriage, wouldn’t we?????

(I loathe McConnell...probably more than any single person in DC.....And I supported Bevin......but your idea that we’re here because we voted lesser of two evils is just wrong).
