Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says there's not much Congress can do in the wake of the ruling by the Supreme Court legalizing gay marriage.

In an interview Tuesday night on Kentucky television station WDRB, McConnell restated that he still holds to the traditional view of marriage.

"I’ve always felt that marriage is between one man and one woman and the Supreme Court has held otherwise. That’s the law of the land," the Kentucky Republican said.

When he was asked if there is anything Congress can do, he answered: "I don’t think so. I think the courts have pretty well spoken."

However, McConnell said he is now concerned about "the potential problems with regard to religious liberty."

Not much Congress can do?? Have you read the Constitution, Mitch?

It says Congress is REQUIRED to impeach and remove when it is appropriate.

I say now it is appropriate to remove Kagan and Ginsberg for obvious bias on participating on this ruling.

I agree.
Congress should be impeaching judges.

Mitch didn’t know the Constitution going way back into the 1980s, so it’s clear he does not care for it.

Lesser evil, Folks. Accept what you voted for/demanded.

What? No matter what not looking good in hindsight? Bummer. Vote smarter next time. If there is a next time.

“...Not much Congress can do??”

Highly insulting to have one of our, ...”the people’s representatives” thinking we are so damned stupid.

"I don’t think so. I think the courts have pretty well spoken."

WHAT? The court is only 1/3 of the powers. All three braches have to agree to pass a law! Who appointed them Gods above men?

If ANY Republican is ever going to get my families vote again, they're going to have to start doing something to EARN it!

They have until November.

Isn't it funny how they never say this kind of crap 2 weeks before an election.

Yep. And they’ll al do the same thing again ..”you have to hold your nose because blah blah blah blah”.

I didn’t vote for a POTUS last time and, the way it’s going, looks like I won’t this time.

Translation: “Whew! Thankfully the Supreme Court took this issue off our plate so now we can stop pretending to care what our base thinks about it by calling it the law of the land and putting all the blame on the court. Now all our liberal buddies and friends in the media will stop thinking we are bigots and start inviting us to their cocktail parties again.”

[Not much Congress can do?]

How convenient the SCOTUS ruling came before the 2016 elections. Homosexual marriage is ‘off the table.’

Congress has done just what it meant to do all along-absolutely nothing to stop this. Does anyone really believe that they didn’t happily shmooze with the likes of Barney Franks all those years, and not lose whatever of Biblical ethics they may have had?
