Proud of my aforementioned heritage and things like the Red Ensign flag and the linked song, these things represent a true spirit, as opposed to politicians and media elite who soak everyone while promising a free lunch to everyone and who also tell people they can be anybody or anything but in real terms end up as nobody and nothing.
Have a great day.
I used to hate it when I’d pop over the border to buy beer in anticipation of July 4th, only to find out the Brewers Retail was closed. But I learned.
Bonne Fête du Canada! Happy Canada Day!
I call it Dominion Day, too. Always have, always will. Have a happy !!

Lol, my parents used to grocery shop at a Dominion in the east end of Ottawa (St Laurent Shopping Centre) back in the 1970s. I don’t know if it’s just me and being a kid back then, but it just seemed that the lunch counter and bakery there (along with other grocery stores) were just that bigger and offered more to people.
Actually, if you were close enough to cross over into Quebec (as opposed to Ontario), you probably would have been able to buy the beer at a corner store (depanneur in local parlance) that most likely would have been open July 1, lol. For years, there has been a movement to allow this in Ontario as well but predictably of course has been shot down by the Beer Store employees’ union, among others. There is now the idea to allow beer and wine in grocery and a few specialty stores, but that is about it for now. Out of curiosity, can you buy beer in grocery and corner stores in your locale?

Happy Dominion Day to you and to all Canadians who love freedom and who cherish America’s friendship.
Same to you, I express the same sort of sentiments to my American friends on Facebook.
Pardon me, should have added in that I express those sort of sentiments to my American friends on Facebook on July 4th.
Got it!
I feel compelled to tell you, by the way, that I struggle constantly with not allowing the pompous Alex Trebeck to turn me against Canadians.
Canada Ping!
