Justice Kennedy’s Bitter Truth - Ruling Will Unleash Legal Furies Against Those Who Disagree.
The Wall Street Journal ^ | June 29, 2015 | William McGurn

What can it possibly matter to you, they were asked, if two men or two women who love each other call their relationship marriage?

We learned that it matters a great deal.

It matters to Brendan Eich, who was forced to resign last year as CEO of the company he co-founded after it became public that he had donated $1,000 to Proposition 8, the successful California ballot measure banning same-sex marriage.

It matters to Chick-fil-A, which in 2012 saw the mayors of Chicago and Boston declare the restaurant chain had no place in their cities because its chief executive held the same view of marriage that Barack Obama held until very recently.

It matters to Catholic Charities, which in several states has been forced out of the adoption business either because the charity does not offer same-sex spousal benefits or declines to place children for adoption with same-sex couples.

It matters for cake bakers, photographers, florists, jewelers and pizza-parlor owners who happily serve gay customers but draw the line at assisting gay weddings.

Finally, it matters to all religious schools and religious institutions. . . . a victory for same-sex marriage would put the tax-exempt status of such institutions on the chopping block.

The reason for all this is that the right for men to marry men or women to marry women is only half of the equation—and not even the most important half at that.

The other half involves antidiscrimination statutes and regulations, not to mention the discretion of federal, state and even private bureaucracies regarding everything from funding and accreditation to tax exemption.

In short, there is nothing live-and-let-live about the way this movement has operated the past few years, and to pretend otherwise requires a willful blindness. Now, with Obergefell, the full furies have been released.

Exactly. But Kennedy lives in a liberal media bubble with queer aides and clerks

Kennedy all but ruled that a sexually deviant portion of the population is now a protected class.

Starting to look like the only option to protect the rights of the majority is complete extermination of the queers.

And before you start flaming, know that I was willing to live-and-let-live. They’re the ones that escalated things to this point.

Correct, and the upcoming litigation against small businesses, and Christians/churches will be STAGGERING.

Note that by becoming very ‘in your face’ they identify themselves very clearly. That may be important information for the future.

He was converted to this point of view by gay friends back in Sacramento. Would be interesting to learn more about his personal history.

The biggest and real target is the Roman Catholic Church and its’ affiliates. They are and always will be the big target.

Note how there is little wailing from the Homosexuals about the extreme harm done to children who have been unable to find adoptive parents or the poor who are no longer served by Catholic institutions that have been forced to close because they refuse to accept societies requirements to provide homosexuals with adopted children or provide contraception and abortion services to their employees. Even when their employees don’t want or ask for them.

As long as there is a Catholic Church that says NO. Sin is sin, they will be unsatisfied.

There self hatred for their own deviance is stunning.

Friend of mine nearly lost his million plus dollar a year directorship at a consulting firm when he was outed by that corrupt Cali judge for supporting Prop 8. He was put on trial for his job and accused of being a bigot. Nicest guy you ever met.

Roberts doesn’t care about anything but his account balance at the Bank of Malta.

Do you mean Kennedy?

Roberts' task was Obamacare. This horror show was Kennedy's assignment.

I have been totally bamboozled by all this sudden flurry.

You’re probably right.

The day will soon arrive
when some individual marries a member of the same sex plus a couple of rodents and a possum flattened overnight on a road.

Ruling Will Unleash Legal Furies Against Those Who Disagree.

Perhaps. But that's nothing compared to The Wrath Of God that is coming Against Those Who Agree.

Question to anyone....

Do pregnant young women who plan to give up a child for adoption now lose all rights concerning the sexual orientation of the “married couple” that adopts her baby?

Another question....

Do foster children have any legal right to refuse placement in a homosexual foster home?
