Transgender is yesterday's news: How companies are grappling with the 'no gender' society
Fortune Magazine ^ | 6/29/2015 | Vivian Giang

Facebook now offers more than 50 ways for users to identify their gender. Says one exec, “Gender neutral is kind of the new thing.”

With Bruce Jenner’s transition to Caitlyn, transgender issues have become front and center in the mainstream cultural conversation. But among many young people, there is a much bigger conversation going on about gender. The whole notion of “binary” — female and male — gender norms is being seen as limiting, and unnecessary.

At elite liberal arts colleges like Vassar and Wesleyan, students have earnest conversations about gender being a “social construct,” and bathrooms are “gender neutral,” not co-ed. Some young people are defining their identity as “gender fluid” – as have “Orange is the New Black” star Ruby Rose and pop singer Miley Cyrus. (People who are gender fluid may feel their gender identity is neither male nor female or switches back and forth between male and female.) The University of Vermont validated a third, gender neutral option and allows students to choose a new first name, regardless if the name has been legally changed, and chosen pronoun. (People who do not identify as male or female prefer the pronoun “they,” rather than “he” or “she.” )

I guess they eschew basic H.S. level biology these days. Biology has other ideas. The vast majority are either XX or XY, and this sets your gender in a very basic, fundamental way.

I posted a joke in an earlier thread:

“How do you address a business letter to Bruce Jenner? ‘Dear Sir or Madam.’”

Seriously, there is a certain irony here. The older or more prosaic companies are trying desperately to appear hip in order to lure the young. But will this demographic even stay loyal? I can’t imagine them working anywhere longterm, let alone running anything, not even Apple. (Unfortunately, not our country either.) I know their type — they get bored or contentious & move on.

A conservative company can “get it” by offering agreeable physical amenities or working conditions. But trying to compromise values will prove that if you please all, you please none.

These idiots think “sex” is changeable, but sexual orientation is immutable (and want to criminalize psychologists who say otherwise).

Of course, what they really believe is that once you’re gay, you’re gay forever. But heteros can decide that they are gay anytime.

Call it whatever we will, it is nonsense and evil imposed upon the whole nation, when a matter/belief is for or against the beliefs of the individuals concerned.
As HITLER/ Germany, or STALIN/ Russia, Did in previous generations.
Let us pray and look to God for truth, wisdom, direction. There is sin and sin is not the way God said to live .
The Ten Commandments are for all believers.

When people are not allowed to have freedom of thought we are INDEED IN SLAVERY. Tyranny! Oppressed! Hate!

America was founded on freedom of thought, Speech, and the right to be heard, (not actions)

Freedom of thought is basic to life. We can not to impose it on others. It is offered, accepted or rejected. We are to learn and consider the matters.

Each will receive the result of their choice.

Choose wisely.

Wow something happen to me just an hour ago. Went shopping with a friend. We decided to stop at McDonald’s to get a bite to eat because we hadn’t eaten breakfast. I

Drove up to the menu speaker and the person on the other end had a strong accent and on top of that a Lisp.

After I order I drove up to the window to pay. Only to find a person that made me confuse. It was hard to tell if it is a Female or Male.

After giving me change back, I was afraid to say Thank You Sir or Mamm. Not sure how to say it so I just said Thank you. ...sigh

My friend even asked if the clerk was a female or male, I told her I don’t know LOL. I simply said Thank you out of respect because I didn’t want to hurt that person’s feeling .

The difference being that when someone identifies as Napoleon, liberals do not yet think he has the obligation to get plastic surgery to change his appearance to look like the Emperor or right to demand we call him that.

Ok, here’s my question. If a non-binary type gender queer personality prefers “they” as ...umm... “their” pronoun , then will ...umm... “we” (meaning “the rest of us”) be required to permanently relinquish any claim of inclusion in “they” or any other of “their” chosen self-referential pronouns? Will we be required to choose different pronouns to avoid culturally appropriating theirs? Am I even allowed to use “us” when I’m not including “them” (or is it always “they” without regard to subject or object)—in whatever the heck I’m trying to say without offending any of these lunatics?
Will pointing at nut jobs still be considered rude, or will clarifying hand gestures now be required?

This is the email I received. Go ahead and do the survey. Each one of you could be transgender. Microsoft will think most of their users are crazy people.

Hello, Windows Insider –
We hope you’re enjoying the Windows Insider Program.
We want to continue to provide the best Insider experience we can, so we’re asking Insiders like you to take a few minutes and complete a short survey.

This survey will help us update the Insider experience since the survey we sent out last year – and it includes several new questions to help us deliver even more of what’s important to you.

Survey results are anonymous unless you choose to provide your name.

To proceed with the survey, please click the link below or copy into your Internet browser:

Origin of sexual reproduction

Many protists reproduce sexually, as do the multicellular plants, animals, and fungi. In the eukaryotic fossil record, sexual reproduction first appeared by 1.2 billion years ago in the Proterozoic Eon.[4] All sexually reproducing eukaryotic organisms derive from a single-celled common ancestor.[1][5][6][7] There are a few species which have secondarily lost this feature, such as Bdelloidea and some parthenocarpic plants...

Hmmm. Maybe “social construct” is a “social construct”.
