But he almost made it out of the huge prison camp that is the territory once known as “the United States of America”.

Within concrete walls or not, he never escaped the mentality that put him there in the first place.

Maybe, with luck, he will contract a life-threatening chronic condition, and take his parole early from the remaining life sentence.

They shoot to kill if it is a mad dog on the loose. Did the right thing by the first guy.

This does not bode well for Gov. Cuomo and the prison staff. Sweat was supposed to be killed so he couldn’t out the entire circus running the prison!!!!!!

Straight north of where the first inmate was killed.

Once his pal was dead, must have decided to head towards Canada. Not sure why they didn’t go there from day one.

He’s still alive?

Law enforcement needs more practice time at the shooting range.

Why couldn’t they use a drone with heat seeking tech and catch his guy in the woods a week+ ago? What took so freaking long?

Not too far from where he was apprehended is the St. Regis Mohawk reservation. That res sits half in NY and the other half in Quebec. Had they gotten there, getting across that river would have been fairly easy.

The drones kept tracking on raccoons and skunks....

And these critters were making the dogs nuts.

Getting to Canada would be no guarantee of “freedom” but certainly, there would not be 1000 NY State Troopers, ATF, CBP, etc... pursuing them. Quebec especially would be a bit prickly on their sovereignty with 1000 armed American government forces crossing their border.

TV and news is also different, as well as language. They would much less likely be recognized.

Actually the St. Lawrence river veers north west of the border in that area. If they had been able to make it to the border north of Malone, they could have made a land crossing and had plenty of room for maneuver.

But this caper was obviously poorly planned as they barely made it 30 miles away from the prison after being on the loose for two weeks. Plus, they were wearing jorts.
