Christians in Deep Danger: 'We Dare Not Be Silent'
By Gary Lane CBN News Sr. International Correspondent Friday, June 26, 2015
From Egypt, to Syria and Iraq, ancient Christian communities --among the world's oldest -- are under threat of extinction.
"Christians and other minorities are in deep danger and we dare not be silent. The time to speak is now," said Katrina Lantos Swett, chairman of the United States Commission on International Freedom.
Swett delivered that message at the recent 6th Annual Coptic Solidarity Conference in Washington, D.C., on persecution in the Middle East.
So, why should Americans, or other Westerners, get involved? Swett says religious extremism crosses oceans and continents.
"When Coptic Christians in Egypt are jailed for blasphemy or attacked by extremists for supposedly violating such laws and we are silent, we should not be surprised when attacks commence in the streets of Paris or elsewhere," she said.
Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, said," America is in a place to stop the persecution of Christians in numbers never before seen in the world. God has allowed us to be at that place."
But before America and other nations can respond effectively, they must face the truth about what is happening and why.
Middle East analyst and author Raymond Ibrahim blames the media.
"We know about this ISIS thing because ISIS wants you to know and the media if anything has responded by giving us a plethora of editorials trying to convince us that what ISIS is doing is not Islamic," he explained.
Ibrahim says American leaders must speak the truth about the atrocities -- like the beheading of Coptic Christians in Libya.
"According to the White House, it was just 21 Egyptians who were randomly killed, not because they're Christians, not because of their faith and so forth," Ibrahim said.
U.S. Religious Freedom Ambassador at Large Rabbi David Saperstein is urgently concerned about Iraqi and Syrian Christians. Their numbers have dwindled to a fraction of what they were just 20 years ago.
"Now, if we're going to preserve those communities, we know what needs to be done," Saperstein said. "First, until ISIL is pushed out, those displaced communities need to be able to live with a quality of life that will be an incentive for them to remain."
And that means providing security and stability for them, along with better health care and schools for their children.
Rep. Diane Black, R-Tenn., says people of the United States need to act.
"We cannot stand by and watch this," Black said. "We have a moral obligation to act in defense of our brothers and sisters abroad."
So, Christian activists in Washington are once again speaking loudly, reminding President Barack Obama and the U.S. Congress that something needs to be done quickly to protect these ancient Christian communities from annihilation. And they say they'll keep speaking until something is done -- and they start listening.
Yeah, I don’t think the nation in the grip of a Muslim Marxist and the Gaystapo will be doing anything.
Okay, you don’t have to go quietly, they can always drag you to the camps
Game on.
My first thought is to elect a conservative to the presidency, and then open the immigration gates and bring in 20-30 million conservative Christians. If the liberal scum object, tell them to stuff it.
Well it's worked for you so far . . .
If anyone thinks that they won’t be coming for you, think again FRiends.
If Christians were going to do anything, we would have done it when a godless and vile supreme court legalized abortion. We didn't turn the tide at the murder of 50 million infants, why would we care about some pathetic fags going through the motions of a sham "marriage?"
And Methodists.
St. Columba (6th century). “Hearken, hearken to
what will happen in the latter days of the world!
There will be great wars; unjust laws will be enacted;
the Church will be despoiled of her property; people
will read and write a great deal; but charity and
humility will be laughed to scorn, and the common
people will believe in false ideas.”
St. Methodius. “A day will come when the enemies
of Christ will boast of having conquered the whole
world. They will say: ‘Christians cannot escape
now!’ But a Great King will arise to fight the enemies
of God. He will defeat them, and peace will be given
to the world, and the Church will be freed from her
anxieties.”
I’m not going quietly into the night, that’s for sure.
Christian Churches are not required to perform gay marriages. The US Supreme Court (wrongfully...) said homosexuals have the right to marry.
The court DID NOT SAY they have the right to be married in a Church. In fact, the Court didn't say where homosexuals had a right to marry other than "the 50 states" and the court didn't define who had to perform homosexual marriages although the presumption is the individual States (State, County, Local clerks & officials) have a mandate at the Government level.
Having said that ....
Rush Limbaugh finally said what I've been saying for well over ten years: homosexual rights and homosexual marriage is all about destroying Christianity in America. If that were not true, then why is the radical Homosexual Agenda suing religious organizations who refuse to marry them and small businesses who refuse to bake a wedding cake for a gay wedding?
It is absolutely true that what the Supreme Court did today paves the way for Homosexuals to sue anyone and everyone who refuses to provide services to them in any way, INCLUDING those who refuse based on their religious beliefs, and faith based organization organizations including churches. The Supreme Court in its ruling (to the best of my knowledge..) did not exempt religious organizations or "people of faith" from being mandated to provide goods or services to homosexual weddings. That's going to be a whole 'nother round of court battles.
Anyone who doesn't believe that should pay attention to the flurry of lawsuits already drafted up to strip the tax exempt status of any church that refuses to marry two homosexuals and the business licenses from any business that declines based on the owners religious beliefs.
Test cases for the above are happening in Washington state right now. One business (Sweetcakes by Melissa) has already been sued out of existence because the owner refused to bake a cake for a homosexual wedding because it violated their religious beliefs.
Churches are next. They will attack small churches specifically because they won't have the resources to defend themselves. Once the homosexuals get a ruling that favors them, precedent is set and we'll witness a cultural war like never seen before.
One last comment: The political pendulum swings both ways. Hopefully it's done swinging as far left as it can, and if so, the homosexuals better watch out for the backlash that's coming their way .... because it's coming.
They are coming for Christians and they are coming hard. Lock and load.
And spend quality time at the gym, range and dojo.
Hopefully it’s done swinging as far left as it can, and if so, the homosexuals better watch out for the backlash that’s coming their way .... because it’s coming.
Coming how...?
With everything that has been happening, this Christian soldier is ready to march onward.
First you’d have to get two of them to request the deed of a mosque. The gaystopo consider them allies, or at least enemies of their enemies, in spite of however many gays ISIS and IRAN murder. Anyone gay dumb enough to offend such would be given the same reaction as those who hosted a Ted Cruz meet and greet. They better really love sex with each other as they won’t be getting any elsewhere.
