Put the statues on PRIVATE LAND inside a city but keep them on “historical” battlefields. The haters may not be able to get around historically designated sites to kick out the statues.
I have no love for the Confederacy but it was an important part of our history, and as a historian, I believe in keeping history intact as much as possible, for the public, warts and all.

Yes, slavery does in fact still exist, and it still belongs to those who more identify with the progressives. Michelle Obama had the chance to take an actual stand against actual slavery when 100 girls were captured by boko haram and sold into slavery, and her response was to invent a hashtag and hold up a sign.
I have never held a confederate flag, but I am sure not going to join this straw man lynching when there are bigger real battles to fight.
When I worked up north all I heard was how the south is still fighting and yet it is they who put down the south, make hones about southerners, and claim the south is still fighting.

Every southern town in our parts has a Civil War Veterans memorial erected (many of them) by The Daughters of The Confederacy.
We lost the 10 Commandments in our courthouses, so I guess any evil is possible.
