If Hamilton is replaced, I want to see him replaced with Reagan.

We’d need to go back to the larger size currency of a hundred+ years ago to fit all that on there. They’d be popular, though.

Then I offer a second female who had a large national impact in several ways - Clare Boothe Luce, married to Henry Luce, who had a most interesting upbringing, and a metamorphosis from an FDR supporter in 1932 to the other side of the spectrum, supporting every Republican nominee from Wendell Willkie to Ronald Reagan. A highly adventurous woman in many ways (she briefly tried LSD), she was also one of the first women to be named as an Ambassador, first to Italy, then to Brazil. But the nomination for the Brazil ambassadorship was fought so furiously by Oregon Senator Wayne Morse, that even though she won confirmation, she resigned in disgust at the tactics Senator Morse used.

Clare Booth Luce stood for election to a seat in Congress, representing the state of Connecticut, in 1942, and held the seat until 1947.

All in all, a much more interesting (and attractive) person than Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold & Joyless, and she did it all with a degree of strength and charm that stand head and shoulders, over most “accomplished” females of the present day. Actress, author, and gracious hostess, she married first for money, then for influence, both of which she managed to leverage into an ever-larger stage all the time.

And don’t forget her wry wit. “No good deed goes unpunished.”
“Money can’t buy happiness, but it can make you awfully comfortable while you’re being miserable.”
“They say women talk too much. If you have worked in Congress you know that the filibuster was invented by men.”
“Male supremacy has kept woman down. It has not knocked her out.”

It will be either Rosa Parks or Harriet Tubman.

Only deceased persons are allowed (by statute) on U. S. currency.

If they count brain dead, then most living democrats would be eligible.

What do you mean? No women in History can match his accomplishments? Hillary will have been president for four years and broke the glass ceiling with equal pay for women, healed the earth, stop gun violence with strict ownership laws, solved income equality by servery taxing the rich, reduced the population (once again saving the earth) with an abortion clinic on every corner, outlawed hate speech, and provide socialized medicine. </s > off.

Hamilton wrote 51 of the 85 articles that make up the Federalist Papers. Can she top that? Or can any of the others whose names are being considered?

That's just it. In terms of significant impact to the country, there are no women contenders, and d@mned few male ones.

The men we honor on our currency were exceptional humans, let alone exceptional males.

Now that white people are allowed to claim that they are black, and men are allowed to claim that they are women, living people should be allowed to claim that they are dead.

A significant impact in small circles, but not in the one that counts; A Major national impact.

If we had a US version of Margaret Thatcher, then you would have a candidate. We have simply never had a Female do anything of major national significance, along the lines of a Maggie Thatcher.

Sarah Palin might have been such a person, but the Media vetoed her chance.

Have you ever heard the expression, "He is as queer as a $3 bill"?

There was a $3 that was issued by the Clause Bank of NY....Santa Clause was on it. Paul Harvey reported on it.

Well, Hamilton was born on St. Kitts. There's that.

I sort of like Lucy Flucker (her maiden name - she married Henry Knox, another vastly underrated Founder). She told her Loyalist family to sod off and stayed with her husband and her adopted country. Lengthy correspondence between the two that reminds me a bit of John and Abigail Adams.

It would be ideal to keep the women to the founding of America. No politics would get involved in the selection.
