THE POPE STEPS IN IT AGAIN
Powerline ^ | 21 Jun 15 | John Hindraker

Pope Francis is rapidly convincing me that he is not just a leftist, but a dope. Speaking to a group of young people in Turin, he departed from his script and launched into a rambling denunciation of, among others, arms manufacturers:

“It makes me think of … people, managers, businessmen who call themselves Christian and they manufacture weapons. That leads to a bit a distrust, doesn’t it?” he said to applause.

He also criticized those who invest in weapons industries, saying “duplicity is the currency of today … they say one thing and do another.”

We are a long way from “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.” Pope Francis then went on a tour of world history that included this gem:

“The great powers had the pictures of the railway lines that brought the trains to the concentration camps like Auschwitz to kill Jews, Christians, homosexuals, everybody. Why didn’t they bomb (the railway lines)?”

With what? Oh yeah, that would be bombs. Dropped out of bombers. Manufactured by…whom?

Pope Francis needs to pull out of his recent tailspin before he becomes an international laughingstock.

It is really odd, the statement about manufacturers of weapons. Didn’t this Pope call a few months ago for the west to intervene to save Christians in the Middle East who are being persecuted?

Intervene how? With flowers and pamphlets?

And, as this author says: how exactly were the western nations supposed to intervene in Auschwitz? Bombs? Oh well, some things just don’t make sense.

And, as far as the pot calling the kettle black on Auschwitz, let’s look at the Pope’s homeland of Argentina -

Pope Jorge Mario Bergoglio (Francis) of Argentina, people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones: why don’t you explain why it took Argentina until the end of WWII, when the result was clear, to declare itself on the side of the allies. You might explain why hundreds of Nazis were permitted to hide in Argentina, to include Adolf Eichmann.

And you might explain this from US Secretary of State at the time, Cordell Hull: “Hull ordered the confiscation of Argentine goods, cessation of foreign trade with her, avoidance of any of US ships landing at Argentine ports, and he denounced Argentina as the “nazi headquarters in the occidental hemisphere”.” (Galasso, Norberto (2006). Perón: Formación, ascenso y caída (1893-1955). Buenos Aires: Colihue. ISBN 950-581-399-6. (Spanish) pp 198-200)

I have a little spare cash laying around. Does anyone know of any good arms manufacturers I could invest in?

Wait a week and see if the Pope triggers a sell-off. If the price starts dropping, then wait a bit before buying. :>)

This is pied piper type of stuff. Play to pacifist sentiments while supporting NWO. The idea is to extinguish national sovereignty and create a monster NWO police state. The first people to go to the camps will be these stupid leftist dupes.

Ha! He’s okay with his one world government being armed, just not the rest of us. This guy is telling us exactly who he is and we need to listen.

You don't usually think "Jesuit" and "sloppy thinking" go together ... usually.

It's all the more painful because his predecessor is easily one of the top five Catholic theologians of the past century. :-(

Certainly he uses the very same pabulum terms and phrases that the very shallow liberals on campus and on cable use....

Are you kidding? The Catholic church is already on life support. This vampire is driving a stake into his own heart.

Hopefully, his actions will motivate true believers to leave Catholicism and embrace Christ alone instead of His mom.

This represents a shocking inability to think on the part of the Pope. Perhaps he’s playing chess, and we’re going to discover how all this illogical propaganda is playing into some great move he’s making. But right now he looks like a simple panderer to the left.

Hard to believe that Benedict stepped aside for this guy.

He will of course now disband his security detail; as they may have weapons which he has deemed to be immoral.
