The 11 % are Muslim or illegals. Bet on it.

six percent (6%) aren’t sure. [...] in 2013 [...] 13% said they were not sure

Seeing what 0bama's been up to forces one to take a side.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 89% of U.S. Likely Voters want to continue using the Constitution as the fundamental law of the United States

When asked for comment, John Boehner said "that's a question for the Supreme Court" and Mitch McConnell replied "unless we have the presidency there's not much we can do." The 11% of Congress that actually understands how the Constitution works just facepalmed in lieu of an answer.

Is the constitution a living or dying document?

Wait until Common Core kicks in. Those percentages will plummet.

Unless, of course, more states do the right thing and reject it entirely.

The only parts of the Constitution that even come close to being upheld are the phrases that involve numbers: every second year, two senators from each state, etc.

All other phrases that seem categorical are mere blank slates for judges to write in their own meanings.

I find the poll question bizarre. They could probably poll those same people and find out 89% or less believe the United States should still exist as a country

Oh great mob rule/polls asking the only people idle enough to answer stupid questions- takers, envious liberals- if they want rules. Rules inspired by ancient logical civilization inspired by God and the great philosophers

To allow whom to make up new rules? This Supreme Court? Entertainment TV? Sharia? Hilary? Donald trump? George bush? The justice department? Academia?

Could conservatives stop being chicken and just say no? This is NOT going to stop

The sad truth is that 50% of “voters” are ignorant and/or morons.

Socialists, Muslims and illegals should be subject to the mob’s whim.

Thank you for referencing that article george76. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 89% of U.S. Likely Voters want to continue using the Constitution as the fundamental law of the United States."

The problem is that many citizens probably don’t know why the Founding States wrote the Constitution in the first place. And as a consequence of not knowing the purpose of the Constitution, they don’t understand that the corrupt federal government has been been increasingly ignoring its constitutionally limited powers for the last 100+ years, arguably becoming a meaningless piece of paper within years after it was ratified, not surviving the Civil War in particular (insure domestic tranquility; yeah, right), the Constitution finally going up in flames when FDR was president.

So while people’s hearts are hopefully in the right place, their response to Rasmussen about the Constitution amounts to a PC, “flag, motherhood and apple pie” way to at least sound patriotic imo.

it should be, yes
but it cannot “still be”
because Obama and Company only have contempt for it so that it has not been operative for years already

Our Constitution is based on God-given rights. It can be ignored, refused or violated, but it cannot die.

Since when did the US Constitution become “The Law of the Land”? Do most Americans know it was substituted for the Communist Manifesto after WWII?
