The House on Thursday approved a key plank of President Obama's trade agenda after the push nearly imploded amid Democratic resistance last week, sending the bill to the Senate where it still faces an uncertain fate.
The 218-208 vote nevertheless marked a significant victory for Obama and his pro-trade supporters in both parties. The vote came after Obama huddled Wednesday evening with congressional allies to try to craft a way forward.

Thanks. I am NOT happy to see that my rep voted aye. Idiot. Now if I can get my one, half way decent, senator to NOT support. My other senator is a former light weight boxer who lost a fight with a tread mill recently. Sadly, he may vote no and the half way decent one may vote yes. Are we upside down or what?
2 of those kicked off the whip team earlier for voting ‘against the rule’, Lummis and Pearce, voted against it.
But one, Franks, voted for it.
That’s an ‘interesting’ vote by Franks...
Good for you. It’s liberating.
We give up so much power from Congress to the presidency, and with them being so secretive on the treaty, it just concerns me whats in the treaty.
Paul voted No, he is with Sessions and Lee on this issue.

It (TPA) passed with 62 vote in the Senate, TPA will pass again. But this time Cruz’s hair will be on fire because the “new” TPA will need 60 votes for cloture so the heat will be on Ted.
Mr. Tipton,
I'm going to forgo the "Honorable", as I'm disgusted to say there is clearly no longer ANY 'honor' left in DC. I am particularly sickened by your vote in favor of "Obamatrade" today. The fact that you were elected in a landslide victory for the GOP that began in 2010 and continued in 2014, (all in the name of DEFEATING Obama, not supporting him) and yet you insist on turning your back on the very people that voted you into office. You should be ashamed of yourself, but I doubt you ever will, as you, like the rest in DC, care only to secure their power and continue to line your pockets.
So be it. I want you to know that you personally played a very strong role in my decision to walk away from the GOP. Your willingness to hand a tyrannical President even more power is extremely shameful at best, and a signal of your own tyrannical aspirations at worst.
I look forward to my next opportunity to cast a vote against you, and pledge to spend my $$$ on anyone running against you, even if it means giving money to and voting for the Democrat. You have heaped shame upon yourself, the GOP and the great State of Colorado.
Pearce joined the two NM Democrat Reps (Lujan Grisham and Ben Ray Luján) in voting "No." The Democrats (together with Boehner and Obama) rounded up enough Rat votes to offset the 50 courageous Republicans who voted against it.

Some may have voted no because of TAA which has now been removed.
You betcha. This was orchestrated from the get-go. Congress is a become a rubber-stamp for K Street power brokers. Elections are a window-shop farce to allow the masses to think they have a say in the system.
That does it for me wrt the GOP.
History of late says my elected representatives have no idea what's in it, so I want to see it.
Obama promised all legislative bills would be posted on the web for 30 days before votes.

If anyone cares to search out a changed vote...
Well with all the Cruz bots on Free Republic patting him on the back for voting for TPA, he can think that we all have his back. If you just look at the threads without the comments, it would look like Ted Cruz has about 95% support for his TPA vote. But if you look at the comments, it would appear that he has about 10% support and those people are only patting him on the back because he's Ted Cruz. I doubt if any of the people hawking the TPA on this forum would have done it if Ted Cruz had voted against it.
OK it's a done deal now. Ted Cruz will double down and cast another vote for diluting the power of the Senate and giving Obama more power. Ted Cruz will call the treaty an "agreement" even though it has the force and effect of a treaty and the TPP will pass by one vote and Ted Cruz will be a hypocrite and vote against it.
And everyone will cheer him as a Tea Party Hero. And the United States will continue its journey around the bowl and into the sewer of history.
Slow down, turbo! Not all of us "Cruz bots" are on board with this vote. In fact, some of us (such as myself) are currently considering this the final nail in the coffin for the GOP. If Cruz votes in favor of this, that'll be it. I WILL NOT give a single vote to the GOP, including Cruz, in 2016.
Since you can’t beat them. It’s time for conservatives to found a third party and let these RINO and Chamber of Commerce GOP stew in thier liberal juices. This is futile.

We have so few good candidates that I would like to give Cruz another chance if he changed his vote on TPA. Most of these people are just not up to the job. Bush, Rubio, Walker, Fiorina, Huck, Jindal,Paul. None of them are going to win a general election agains’t Hillary Clinton. Its just a dream like they thought Mitt would take down Obama. Not even close. It will not happen.
I would say only Cruz and Trump and maybe Perry have a chance to win a general election. I think Perry’s actual accomplishments as TX Governor would be good in a general election but I don’t think he can win the primary. That leaves Cruz and Trump.
Somebody is going to have to excite the republican base and get them to the polls. At the rate the Republican Congress is pizzing off the base that’s going to be a chore. I don’t feel that optimistic about the whole thing.
Yes you me and a lot of people.
Mark Levin said his phone lines were jammed with calls in favor of Trump.
