Washington (CNN)Mike Huckabee says there's a time he wishes he could've been transgender: When it was time to hit the high school showers.
If he "could have felt like a woman," the Republican former Arkansas governor joked earlier this year, then he could have seen his female classmates without their clothes on.
"Now I wish that someone told me that when I was in high school that I could have felt like a woman when it came time to take showers in PE," Huckabee said.
"I'm pretty sure that I would have found my feminine side and said, 'Coach, I think I'd rather shower with the girls today.' You're laughing because it sounds so ridiculous doesn't it?"

Might win him points with regular Americans as well since I have heard the same things said in real life by church goers, Atheists, Trick drivers, sales people...you know...Average people not to intellectually above accepting the reality of the situation.
No one has to like or even agree with the statement but human nature is what it is and what high school kid never thought about it?

Huckerbee is going for the Beavis and Butthead vote. He calculates that millions of 13-15 year old boys sat out the last election, and these kind of stupid jokes (Imagine Eisenhower saying this, you can’t) will rouse them to the polls this go around.

I will second that! I thought he was suppose to be a godly man? What a stupid teenage horny statement! Sometimes it’s better not to say anything at all.
To be fair to those who post on FR, they are not running for President. I may be old fashioned, but I still like my candidate to show some Class. If you compare the discourse, on all sides, of today’s politicians with those of the past, it is distressing. Today’s group is not even in the same league, to those of the 19th Century and earlier, not the same universe. Today’s leaders come off as uninformed, uneducated, unread, dolts, Left or Right.
I understand your point. Even agree. But we went well beyond class a while ago. We cannot class our way out of a bar fight with liberals.
Now I’m not saying we should become liberals. But some plain spoken truth will go along way when even here on FR people cringe and tut tut it when it is spoken. We have to abandon that mindset and learn to fight.
I am sure there is a way to fight without looking like a bunch of goatropers. William F Buckley could fight with the best of the Left, let us use his game plan.
That involved the use of the word Faggot and threatening violence. While I’m not opposed to that, it’s a little higher up the goatroping scale than Huck’s comment.
And why not? Buckley was right to do what he did and I have heard his words in bars across America. Excusing his words is not going to help. Embracing them will.
And yes, its a direct comparison. both got pissed and vented. Both were correct and pretending we are above all that is why we are in this freaking mess.
