Photo Raises Doubts About Police Shooting of Jermaine McBean

After Florida police shot Jermaine McBean to death as he walked home with an unloaded air rifle, they said there was no reason to believe he did not hear their orders to drop the weapon and that he pointed it at them.

But a newly emerged photo that shows headphones in McBean's ears immediately after the 2013 shooting raises questions about the police version of events, including why the white earbuds were later found stuffed in the dead computer expert's pocket.

And another aspect of the police account is also being contradicted — by a man who called 911 in alarm when he saw McBean walking around with the air rifle but who also says McBean never pointed it at police or anyone else.

Michael Russell McCarthy, 58, told NBC News that McBean had the Winchester Model 1000 Air Rifle balanced on his shoulders behind his neck, with his hand over both ends, and was turning around to face police when one officer began shooting.

"He [McBean] couldn't have fired that gun from the position he was in. There was no possible way of firing it and at the same time hitting something," McCarthy said. "I kind of blame myself, because if I hadn't called it might not have happened."

This does not look good for the officers. Stinks of a cover up.

Why would he point an air riffle at police?

There is who should be shot, the bed-wetting liberal peeing his panties at the sight of a dreaded gun. Those "Moms" bitches must be proud of what they have sown urging people to call cops to come shoot anyone at all if they see a gun.

I join you in thinking this does not look good for the cops involved. But, I have to add that it also does not look good for Obama, Holder, the race pimps and civil rights hustlers that have put cops everywhere on edge with their anti LE and racially charged rhetoric.

Hey, they got to go home safe and that’s all that matters anymore. Their lives are way more important than yours or mine is.

According to the witness who called 911 originally, he did not point his rifle (or his riffle) at the officers:

Michael Russell McCarthy, 58, told NBC News that McBean had the Winchester Model 1000 Air Rifle balanced on his shoulders behind his neck, with his hand over both ends, and was turning around to face police when one officer began shooting.

"He [McBean] couldn't have fired that gun from the position he was in. There was no possible way of firing it and at the same time hitting something," McCarthy said. "I kind of blame myself, because if I hadn't called it might not have happened."

Actually none of us know how this looks, we only know how the media says it looks.

After all, the media breathlessly informed us about George Zimmerman hunting black men and Darren Wilson executing Mike Brown in the street as he begged for his life.

Then there is the propensity of a certain segment of society to outright lie. I haven’t forgotten the girl in Baltimore breaking into tears as she told of the police shooting the black man in the back as he walked away. The only problem was that he wasn’t shot and his gun was the one that went off when he tripped.

I have a Winchester 1000. If you know anything about guns, it does not look like a powder burner at all.

It definitely reeks of a coverup of incompetence by the cowardly deputy. I am so tired of a small number of “bad apple” cops ruining the reputation of law enforcement generally. Other LEOs should not defend the actions of these idiots IMHO.

I determined long ago that I would never call police unless I seriously believed someone was in immediate danger of his life. To me someone walking with a gun on his shoulders or even carrying it in his hand presents not such danger. In South Florida which is connected directly to NYC by a wormhole people have heart palpitations if they see someone with a gun printed on his t-shirt.

I’ll have to disagree with you on this one cripplecreek. This is a photograph of the dead individual with the earbuds IN HIS EARS with a cop kneeling next to him. Sometime after this photo was taken those earbuds “somehow” were magically teleported into the dead individual’s pocket. Did the dead guy do that? Did the person taking the photo do that? The logical explanation is that (one of) the cops did it! Why would they do that? IMHO they would do it after seeing the buds in the ears and thinking to themselves “Oh shit, he didn’t hear us! This is going to be bad for me. What can I do about this? Jeez, I know, I’ll put the damn things in his pocket after removing them from his ears.

I think it is still being made. Winchester did not make it they just added their name to it. Actually it was imported by Daisy as their name is also on it.

It is made in Turkey and has a walnut stock which is fairly uncommon on less expensive guns today. Very powerful, probably a bit more than other models which claim 1000fps.

It is very accurate but came with an awful trigger. The trigger has improved some but still not very good.

You can find it on the internet I am sure. If I absolutely have to, I will get it, take a photo, upload it and then post it. Too much trouble unless someone else can’t find it already posted.
