A week ago Friday was an unusual day for the editorial page of The New York Times. An unsigned editorial in the paper lashed out at the president for his public statements about reengaging in Iraq. A Paul Krugman column attacked the administrations defense of the new trade agreement. Both pieces said the administration was being … (how shall we say it?) … dishonest.
Granted, this was nothing like the language Krugman and the Times typically use to describe Republicans. A few days earlier, Krugman accused Jeb Bush of cowardice and vileness with respect to his statements about Iraq. In a column on Jebs brother and the original invasion of Iraq, Krugman wrote We were lied into war. It was worse than a mistake, he added, it was a crime.
Still, Krugman and the Times are normally the most visible and reliable apologists for the Obama administration. On The Escalation of Unauthorized Wars, the Times doesnt accuse President Obama of lying or committing crimes, but it comes close:
In his claim that the administration is being dishonest in defense of its trade policies, Krugman tries to sugar coat his attack with this kind of rhetoric:
One of the Obama administrations underrated virtues is its intellectual honesty…. In the policy areas I follow, the White House has been remarkably clear and straight forward about what it is doing and why.
Wow. How quickly memories fade. Everyone knows that Krugman follows health care, for example. Does he really not remember, If you like the health plan you have, you can keep it.? Or, If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor.? We now know from insider reports that the White House knew these statements were false at the time the president was making them.
The federal budget is another matter Krugman follows and right now Congress and the president are wrangling over the sequester (across-the-board spending cuts) they agreed to a few years back. How many times has the president and his spokespeople tried to blame the sequester on the congressional Republicans? Yet it is incontrovertible that the idea first came from the White House.
Sometimes when it isnt clear whether the word dishonest applies, the context is suggestive. The other day, the President told a group of Coast Guard graduates that global warming is a threat to our national security. It was a controversial claim made at a controversial time and place. So a lot of thought must have gone into the speech. Yet only a few days earlier the President approved Shell Oils request to drill for oil in the Arctic Ocean.
Certainly these actions are inconsistent. Lots of people are inconsistent. Or, is more involved? Did the president really believe that carbon fuel is a threat to our security when he was speaking to the graduates? Did he have that same belief when he approved off shore drilling?
One of the presidents finest moments was his appointment of Alan Simpson and Erskine Bowles to lead a bi-partisan commission to recommend ways to curtail runaway entitlement spending. This reflected a position he took as far back as the 2008 Democratic primary and he promised both gentlemen that they had his full backing regardless of their recommendations. Yet when the Simpson/Bowles report was released the president acted as though he had never heard of either one of them.
Okay. Thats a broken promise. Or, is it more than that? Did the president really believe the promise when he made it?
In 2008, candidate Obama promised to heal wounds, end partisan rancor and pull the nation together. Yes, We Can was a promise to unite the American people and members of both parties behind common goals.
Yet President Obama has turned out to be the most partisan and the most polarizing president in our life time. And, yes, it really is his fault. Granted, Republicans have given tit for tat. But the president promised to lead.
In his first State of the Union address he gratuitously insulted the members of the Supreme Court, who were sitting in the front row honoring him. He invited Paul Ryan to a gathering and proceeded to humiliate him on national TV. For the most part, the president doesnt socialize with Republicans or even talk to them. But he doesnt talk to Democrats either. He hasnt done anything to bring about togetherness on either side of the aisle.
Think back to the 2008 campaign. Did the president really mean what he said about bringing people together?
I don't know
Krugman upset about dishonesty?
BUSTED: Paul Krugman removed 20 yrs of data from chart to show correlation that wasn’t really there

Yes. I thought I'd never see a more dishonest prez than Clinton. I was wrong. This guy lies easier than you know what goes through geese.
Well lets see, I would say:
“As long as he has his pen, phone and his mouth open, he’s lying”
All the time, 24/7, 365 days a year for the past (how ever old he is).....
I often use that phase (albeit more crudely) to my family...It usually involves spending money, eating junk food or the like, but it is very apropos.
Trouble is most of them haven't ever been around geese enough to have to step over the results to really empathize what that means. :0)
The once popular J. Edgar Hoover said MLK was the “most notorious liar in the country.” How things have changed! Edgar Hoover is now immensely unpopular. I am surprised the Hoover building in DC has not been renamed.
Take them out to a golf course after a flock of geese have had a party. It’s like stepping through a minefield.
I don’t know that he is a liar per see; he is merely implementing an agenda in which he has passionate beliefs. What Republican has such commitment?
Tru dat.
But, if he truly respects the religion wouldn't he be going after ISIS and others who pervert it and give it a bad name with all the power he could muster? Any answer in the negative seems to indicate his support for ISIS and the goal of world domination.
Yeah.
It's just the 90% of moslems that give the rest a bad name.
Obama is to honesty, what the east is to the west.
But,to your comment, I heard a quote that went; "A militant muslim will cut the head off the infidel while the moderate muslim holds his feet"
(and yes my failure to capitalize muslim is intentional)
Yeah, but you spelled it right.
Well I have to blame those on our side who sat at home in the 2012 election because they didn’t like the republican nominee. The same will happen in the 2016 election when they don’t like the republican nominee, and Hillary will be president, I guarantee you. The liberals have already as much as they will vote for her. to make her the first woman president
THE OBAMAS GET READY FOR THE BIG PAYDAY ALA CLINTON--
(1) "The Obama Foundation" announced the location of its library in Chicago.....revving up the next ex-president's money machine.
(2) The second Obama foundation----The Barack H. Obama Foundation (BHOF)---(named after their dad), was fast-tracked by Lois Lerner for IRS tax-exempt status....for Malik Obama, Barack's half brother.
The BHOF is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website. The organizations IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.
As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the self-same IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status. The IRS thoughtfully gave Obama Foundation retroactive fund-raising status.......which it stupidly never applied for.
The tax-exempt Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abongo Roy Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama.
The foundations mission statement is to provide people everywhere with resources to uplift their welfare and living standards in memory of dad---Barack H. Obama: in the region of his birth, Kenya, and beyond. Its guiding principle is the inherent belief that no one can truly enjoy the riches he has reaped if his neighbor suffers....."We seek to elevate the human condition so that everyone can live in dignity and truly enjoy having one another as neighbors.
(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)
Despite raising more than $250,000, the alleged charity doesnt seem to have done much. Its website claims the organization has built a madrassa and was building an imams house as well as some proposed latrines, but there is no other evidence that the nonprofit was working to mitigate social-shortcomings in areas of education and literacy, health and well-being, poverty, and lack of community infrastructure in such basic needs such as water, electricity, shelter and sustenance, as the site says.
Alton Ray Baysden, a former Dept of State employee, allegedly a registered Republican, who helped start the Barack H Obama foundation, declined to comment before seeing copies of a reporters passport and govt ID, along with a description of the articles motivation and slant.
Repeated reporters' phone calls went to the organizations voicemail and were not returned.
Malik spends most of his time in Kenya with his 12 wives while Obama finances his half brother, Malik, a major fundraiser for the Muslim Bortherhood.

GOVERNMENT FRAUD AT ITS FINEST--in numbered offshore bank accounts?
Obama's federal outlays (that we know of).:
<><> $2 billion funding to Malik's organization---the Muslim Brotherhood,
<><> $50 million to Malik/Barack's tax-exempt foundation in the form of a grant to Kenya.
<><> While the Muslim Brotherhood was in charge in Egypt, Obama (and Hillary) showered them w/ praise.....and billions of US dollars in aid, arms, tanks and planes.
<><> Obama gave $90 million US tax dollars to wealthy oil-rich African countries.
And what percentage of the billions in penalties extorted by the DOJ are set aside for the Obama Foundations?

Nothing about this man is at it seems. His entire life is a fraud, a deception, a lie.
“Whatever is the smallest measure of time is understood...
You would spend less time than whatever that measurement would be... “
One shake of a lambs tail.
A measure of time, I believe, used in the Manhattan Project.
Well, I understand that moslem is an insult. And then there's always "muzzle-em".
Always trying to be helpful.
