Bernie Sanders Condemns Existence of 23 Different Deodorant Brands While Children Go Hungry
Washington Free Beacon ^

Self-proclaimed socialist and progressive favorite Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) laments the idea that Americans can choose between “23 underarm spray deodorants” as children go hungry under President Obama’s economy.

“You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants when children are hungry in this country,” Sanders told John Harwood in an interview posted Tuesday.

Sanders will make his official campaign Democratic presidential announcement alongside the Ben and Jerry’s cofounders in Burlington on Tuesday.

What about tampons and make-up? I heard a long time ago that women spend more on make-up and their hair than the military budget.

If were up to commies like Sanders, there would be a cap on flavors for everything. Ice cream? Try vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry (if you were lucky). Though Bernie might ditch vanilla (too racist).

Would ice cream even be allowed? Ice cream leads to obesity and diabetes
which costs our state run healthcare system too much of the state's money.

Eat kale and walk to work, comrades! You owe it to the Party.

There is absolutely NO reason for ANY child in this country to go hungry. EBT, Food Stamps, WIC, Free school lunches, and a plethora of food pantries run by religious orgs the children of this country get fed. Bernie is full of BS, not just his initials..................

Not exactly. I guess if we all smelled the SAME, children wouldn’t go hungry. Pheromones, I guess.

It's more proof that Bernie is dumber than a box of rocks. The reason there are choices in a free market is because entrepreneurs develop a new, better, and less expensive alternate products. It takes a while for the customers of the older, more costly produce to change, but eventually all products become better and CHEAPER. This leaves more money to feed the poor, not less.

In the socialist economy of Bernie, the older, more costly product is the only one available, so people have to wait in lines to simply be able to buy it.

According to the link, their most important move was getting out of the bread business — they amputated Wonder Bread. Bread's shelf life was only a few days, requiring the company to maintain an extensive delivery network, which was draining 36% of revenue.

Next, they tweaked the Twinkie's chemistry, raising its shelf life from 25 to 65 days.

Together, those two moves enabled them to switch to a warehouse delivery model. Delivery costs dropped from 36% to 16% of revenue, and the range of reachable outlets greatly expanded. According to Andy Jhawar, "We now ship to all Wal-Marts, dollar stores, 100,000 convenience stores, plus vending machines and food services. There is no reason why Hostess can’t be sold in any place that sells candy bars."

There is no way a representative democracy would vote to produce Twinkies. But those same voters voting with their dollars in those convenience stores and at those vending machines enable Twinkies and all sorts of candy, deodorants, ice cream, etc., to thrive. Guys like Bernie hate that!

“You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants when children are hungry in this country,”

How many should there be? How do you know? Why do you get to be the one who decides how many?

With EBT and food banks and free school meals, the reason kids are hungry is Michelle Obama’s nutrition standards in school meals.

It is virtually impossible for any child to go hungry in this country...

We have literally hundreds of programs from the federal, state, county, local government, private institutions and corner churches that can and will feed people...especially children..

The only reason children go hungry is because they have morons for parents or are drug addled, drunk, unfit, mentally ill or a combination of all three...

I'd love to see how much Bernie Sanders has given to the poor and needy....probably zilch...

How nice... children are going hungry? Really, Bernie? There is EBT, school lunches, breakfast and dinner, food banks, churches so you shouldn’t have ANY hungry kids.

If you watch that old Nostradamus movie, Orson Wells bemoans (or, more accurately, the writer bemoans) the number of toothpaste brands on the shelf and how modern life has given us too many choices. Pining for the good ol’ USSR.

In 1976, Viktor Ivanovich Belenko flew his MiG-25 Foxbat under the radar and out of the Soviet Far East to a US airbase in Japan, for which he was made a citizen by act of Congress. You can read an account of his first visit to a shopping center here.

“You don’t necessarily need a choice of 23 underarm spray deodorants when children are hungry in this country,” Sanders told John Harwood in an interview posted Tuesday.

If their mothers bought deodorant instead of crystal meth there would be enough money left for food.

Mitchum gel:

Active Ingredients

Aluminum Sesquichlorohydrate - 25%Anti-Perspirant

Inactive Ingredients

Water , Cyclopentasiloxane , Dimethicone , Dipropylene Glycol , Glycerin , Tocopheryl Acetate , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , PEG 12 Dimethicone Crosspolymer , PEG/PPG 19/19 Dimethicone , PEG/PPG 18/18 Dimethicone , Xylitol , Hydrogen Peroxide , Silica Dimethicone Silylate , Ethylene Brassylate

==

I don’t see how banning such a product will help starving kids. None of the ingredients are worth of a meal.

The suggestion that somehow curtailing consumer choice in the deodorant market would somehow free resources that could be used to feed hungry children is even more illiterate than what usually passes for economic discourse on the left.
