WASHINGTON (WJLA/AP) - A U.S. Capitol Police spokeswoman says a bomb squad has safely destroyed a pressure cooker found in a "suspicious" vehicle left unattended near the Capitol building and that the vehicle's owner has been arrested.
Lt. Kimberly A. Schneider told The Associated Press by email that officers on patrol spotted the parked, unoccupied vehicle Sunday on a street on the National Mall west of the Capitol and an odor of gasoline was also detected. She says a bomb squad "disrupted the items of concern in the vehicle including the pressure cooker," producing a loud bang about 7:45 p.m. She says the vehicle owner, Israel Shimeles of Alexandria, Virginia, was located, arrested and charged with "operating after revocation" and was being processed at Capitol Police headquarters.

how do you safely destroy a pressure cooker without all of the supposed nails and other dangerous projectiles inside of it shooting everywhere?

Looks like he was a doctor who lost his license.
Arrested for “operating after revocation”
If they meant he was driving the car, wasn’t his girlfriend driving the car after picking up the dinner she made him from her apt?
Beef stew all over the inside of the car!

WOPC: War on Pressure Cookers
They have limitless funding to do that with, along with publishing language like "disrupted the items of concern" and "observed a parked & unoccupied vehicle" in lieu of using good English (destroyed, saw). So why not?
By the way, they forgot to use the word utilized instead of used.

Because you need publicity as a dumb ass rookie cop and you’re sure none of that crap is inside the cooker, inside the manufacture’s “Presto” box from Walmart, with Walmart plastic shopping bags full of goods all thru the back seat.

I'm thinking European, maybe even Russian(?) ...but not like the paid russian trolls...
English as second language, at least.
but that's OK.
As for those other names which you mentioned, I kind-of doubt that all three are the same, even though two ( yuffy & gooblah) supposedly were.
So tell us, bob ----
where are you from, and where are you generally at (what country?)?

When aunt Bea was cooking something up in the pressure cooker and Andy and Opie (however it’s spelled) sat around and did nothing. This has deep roots.
What if they used Revere ware.
Confusing?” isn’t it.
Which lie is the truth????

I predict that pressure cookers will rapidly go out of style and will be sold off for prices like THIS WEEK ONLY! $3.99 $2.99 $1.99 $.99!
and you will have to show ID and sign for it when you buy one. A fellow will follow you out to your car and take down your tag number. Good wills and Salvation Army stores will call the bomb squad and evacuate when they find them in their donation boxes.

" They probably blew up an innocent pressure cooker that was going to cook the evening meal." Have you ever been to a Polish wedding? There is no such thing as an, "innocent pressure cooker" and crockpots should be considered suspect.

Has anybody checked to find out if the bomber was paid off by the sister of the Boston bomber ..??
Boy, I would be; and I’d be checking the bomb for fingerprints before blowing it up. She was one angry lady when her bomber-relative was convicted.
