I knew something would come along to disappoint the absolutists, I just didn't think it would be this soon. It's still May. But that gives you time to adopt and discard any number of candidates that does not meet with your smug approval.
Your favored candidate exists only on paper and is a fantasy in your mind. All will disappoint. No one is going to agree with you 100% of the time, which is what you are demanding.
Jesus Christ wouldn't be good enough for you. My suggestion is cut to the chase. Declare yourself unhappy and just state you will not vote or perhaps write in yourself if you feel particularly robust on election day. It will save you so much angst and disappointment.
I don’t laugh because it is sad, for the country.
Perfect as enemy of the good managed to usher Barack Obama in, twice,
Spare me the psychoanalysis. You’re not particularly good at it.
If you want to drink the koolaid for Ted Cruz regardless of what he does, that’s your prerogative. I’m not going to. He’s a politician. He stands or falls on his own merit. We got a real good taste of where his priorities lie this week. It’s a rare bill that contains so much that’s bad as the TPP does. Obamacare is the only other bill/law that I can think of in recent history that was worse. And like obamacare, we have to pass it in order to see what’s in it. And where was the Ted Cruz on all this? Flacking for it and supporting it with all the rest of the globalists.
All sorts of folks are going to deny the evidence of their own eyes. That’s fine. They’ll also jump up and down and squeal as True Believers usually do when confronted with what they view as heresy against their True Candidate. That’s also fine.
This reminds me of the 2004 to 2006 era here on FR where it was quite the rage to refer to Karl Rove as a “magnificent bastard” despite ample evidence that the qualifier “magnificent” was not applicable.
