Josh Duggar, one of the members of the family that stars in TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" ... was the subject of a police investigation for allegedly sexually molesting 5 girls, some of whom are his sisters.
The story was broken by In Touch Weekly, but TMZ has confirmed with law enforcement that Josh Duggar -- who was around 14 at the time -- was the alleged molester against 5 girls starting in 2002.
According to the police report, Josh fondled the genitals and breasts of the girls, some of whom were sleeping, but sometimes they were interacting with him ... in one case reading a book.
There was another reported incident 9 months later.
According to the police report, the police were not immediately contacted. Instead, Jim Bob, the dad, met with church elders and agreed Josh should be put in a treatment program. The police report says Josh's mom, Michelle, said it wasn't really a treatment center ... they simply sent Josh to a guy who was remodeling a building to do manual labor.
In 2006, the family was scheduled to appear on "Oprah," and before the show someone sent an email to Harpo warning that Josh had molested girls. Harpo forwarded the email to a hotline, which triggered a police investigation.
Cops wanted to question Josh, but Jim Bob lawyered him up and Josh declined the invitation.
Josh, who is now 27, apparently cannot be charged because the statute of limitations has run.
As for the Duggars, one of the family members told investigators, "this entire incident had brought the family closer to God" ... this according to the police report.

If as Christians and conservatives, we cannot DEFEND the most vulnerable among us, but calling out those who have great harm, we really aren’t acting as Christians OR conservatives. There is nothing for YOU to "forgive" him over.
You are CHOOSING to hold an offense against him simply because you choose to be self righteous.
I don’t believe any of those children received any kind of counseling except to consult with church elders and send Josh out to work re-modeling houses with a family friend.
What you believe MEANS NOTHING. You weren't there. You don't know those involved. You know nothing.

The father claims to control the girl’s lives restricting what they wear, where they go, who they “court” etc. under the pretense of protecting them but then allows a predator who lives under his roof to live with them. Does that not bother you?
I don't know what happened in that house. If I were in Jim Bob's shoes, first thing that happens is I pick him up by his neck and carry him out back. And I don't mean for a game of cards or paddycake.
After that... I don't know. Simply because...I don't.

The more you think about it, the worse it gets. Not only is the son a scumbag criminal, but the parents also fit the description. To allow this to happen to your little daughters, you have to be a low down sack of s***. This is on par with the meth head single mom letting her goat roper boyfriend have his way with her daughter.

When I was 14 I was a high school sophomore, I was shaving, I had a part time job at a warehouse stacking lumber and unloading trucks. I was probably about 5'10" and 160lbs. I rode the subway by myself.
I wasn't crawling into cribs at night.

Certainly questionable situations. I have no patience for people that do non-consent sex/touching to: kids, vulnerable adults, and animals.
It adds a painful dynamic when it’s a family member.

I assume that since this has come out, the Arkansas Child Protective Services has been called and they will make a visit to the household.

Just in time for the Daily Mail and other sites to POST those pictures as to associate Rick Perry, Ted Cruz, Santorum with something that they had no part in.

I’ll tell you what i would NOT do under those circumstances. I would not sign a television contract that would put my family on display for all the world to see. The father HAD to know this would come out eventually. He clearly chose money over protecting his family from this kind of scrutiny.
Not shocked that the LGBT hate are posting on the very pages of at least one girl Duggar that was certainly a victim.

Well of course he did. He committed a crime. A crime is an offense against society and should be punished. Indeed we have a justice system that delivers judgement and punishment against these types of crimes. Ever serve on a jury?
When one commits a crime they have offended all of society. It is our duty to protect those that cannot speak for themselves nor protect themselves such as children.
I do know most of what happened as I have read the police reports, the family has also admitted it as has Josh. So I think I know enough.
You seem very emotional over this. In fact so emotional that you can’t seem to restrain yourself from personally attacking people here. Keep in mind, there are those commenting here who have been victims of this type of crime and are not acting as irrationally as you seem to be. Ponder that awhile.

Excusing his behavior repeatedly, as his parents did, led to more sin and more anguish.
Even today, their statement and his is all about how he’s okay now.
Little mention of his victims. They didn’t matter then and they don’t matter now.
People who try to equivocate and ask, “But what about ___” or “Yeah, but ___ did it first” are a huge part of the problem.
Conservatives are supposed to be responsible. They do not shirk or pawn off blame. They stand tall for right and don’t defend wrong.
I’m certainly no fan of Oprah Winfrey- never was - never will be, but she was, not as far as I know, the one to bring this to the world’s attention, she didn’t break this story to the public, it was the tabloid InTouch Magazine. But somewhat to her “credit”, when the Duggar family was scheduled to appear on her show in 2006, after a show staffer received an email about the alleged abuse and it was brought it to her attention, she cancelled their appearance on the show and turned the email over to the authorities for investigation. And given Josh’s now public confession/admission, his parents also admitting that it happened and Josh Duggar’s subsequent termination from the Family Research Council, you can’t say it was a false allegation or a smear job.
