Stephanopoulos

· George Stephanopoulos appears to have made a mistake. It was a mistake he made three times having given $25,000 per year for three years to one or another of that Gordian Knot of elements that make up the Clinton's foundation.

· Stephanopoulos reportedly makes about $7 million a year so $75,000 won't make him miss a meal, but it's real money.

· Why should we care about that? I'm not sure. The Clinton collection of foundations make it unclear to me (with my multiple degrees in accounting and law) whether they are even tax deductible but, as President Barack Obama has said, people who make as much as George make enough and shouldn't be able to take a full tax deduction.

· I don't care about that, either. I don't make enough.

· The only reason I think this is important is because since he left the Clinton White House he has held himself out to be a journalist.

· And he's not.

· Here's the first graf of the Wikipedia entry for George Stephanopoulos:

"[He] is an American journalist who works for ABC News as chief anchor. He is a U.S. Democratic Party political advisor."

· I left nothing out of that quote. The second sentence immediately follows the first (or did, when I cut-and-pasted it).

· Carol Simpson - a former ABC News colleague - told CNN's "Reliable Sources" over the weekend that Stephanopoulos is "really is not a journalist."

· Ah Hah! Get my friend Lanny Davis on the phone for me!

· George Stephanopoulos can't be guilty of a lapse of journalistic ethics (in itself an oxymoron) because ? wait for it ? even real journalists say he's not a journalist.

· Not a journalist, not covered by journalistic ethics.

· The defense rests, your honor.

· Stephanopoulos and I crossed paths - literally - when he was the senior House Floor guy for Democratic Leader Dick Gephardt while I was Press Secretary for Republican Whip Newt Gingrich.

· As leadership staff, we had access to the House Floor where we would occasionally meet and chat for a few minutes. We weren't buddies, but we were certainly cordial with one another.

· Point is, no one has ever confused me with being a journalist..

· The mistake Stephanopoulos made was aggressively interviewing Peter Schweitzer about his book on the relationship between the Clinton foundations and official Washington, "Clinton Cash."

· Stephanopoulos should have disclosed his connections to the Clinton foundations and he should have recused himself from conducting that interview.

· That's what a real journalist would have done.

· The other day, I had a discussion with such a real reporter. The question on the table was: How many national TV political reporters under 40 have ever covered a city council meeting or a school board meeting?

· Our mutual guess was zero or really close to zero.

· That is not to say they're not talented and good looking. But there is some serious doubt that most of them would recognize a solid political story if they tripped over it, assuming they didn't happen to be on the bus with Susan Page, Dan Balz, or someone else of their stature.

· I was a real reporter once. I was the news director of WMOA radio (1490 on your AM dial in Marietta, Ohio 45750). I was a pretty good reporter and learned how to listen to the answer of someone I was interviewing and not let them slide off my question. "That was a good answer," I was known to say. "Now, let's do the question I asked."

· I did a lecture to House communications aides not long ago. There were maybe 40 people in the room. I asked how many had been reporters somewhere along the line before they got their present job working in the office of a Member of the United States Congress as a communications aide.

· One person raised his hand.

· Reporters with no experience dealing with press aides with no experience.

· Fair fight.

Let there be two questioners in all Presidential elections.
Let one be a Democrat pick and the other be a Republican pick.

Does he pay them because he loves them, or because he is afraid not to pay them?

Vince Foster and Ron Brown know the answer...

I'm sure ABC would hire Dick Cheney too... It would be difficult for ABC to guess if Dick Cheney was a political operative - or a journalist. I like to think ABC is stupid - not vile and corrupt... and besides, it's possible. /s

This will sound strange - but journalists - most of them - really do have ethical underpinnings... It might come from knowing the outcome of Supreme Court first Amendment decisions - or tradition - but it's there...

George Stephanopoulos on the other hand ran an unethical dirty tricks war room for the corrupt Clintons...

That's a loooooong way from anything even close to ‘ethical’...

ABC News is playing American citizens for fools... just like NBC with their doctored tapes of Zimmerman or CNN;s Candy stepping in to 'help' in a debate when her darling Obama was fumbling.... Eff ABC and their scummy ways. The American people are right NOT to trust these liars...

His acts were worse than NBC’s Brian’s. So why does he still have the job?

Of course most of us who saw Stephanopolous’s transition from a Dem political operative and high ranking Clinton hack to ABC News are not surprised by his partisan leanings.

However, many books written about the Clintons since they left the White House suggest that there was a rift because of the kiss and tell book Stephanopolous wrote following his departure from the administration. According to the mythology, if you once worked for the Clintons, then “turn” on them, they NEVER forgive you. Accordingly it has been reported that Bubba detests GS because he lifted him out of obscurity to the highest levels of power, and then GS turned on him.

Obviously with the recent revelations about GS this is all a crock of horsemanure.

I actually have no problem with GS continuing his media career but I do think he would fit in much better with the crowd over at MSNBS including Al Sharpton, Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz where he can spout partisan Left-wing talking points all day long and no one would really care.

For conservatives all this latest controversy really confirms is how deeply in the tank the MSM is for the Clintons in particular and the Dem Party in general.

Seven million a year; imagine what somebody with talent and integrity could make, of course such folks are intelligent and generally anti-communists so they would be worthless in the progressive liberal democrat communist media.

Stephanopoulos aggressively interviewed Clinton Cash author Peter Schweitzer without disclosing his connections to the Clinton foundations....he should have recused himself from conducting that interview.

Like a whore without a STD shot, Stephanopoulous screwed ABC-News bigtime----he calculatedly CHOSE to interview "Clinton Cash" author Schweizer knowing full well the damage he was to inflict.

Did the cunning Clintons collude w/ Steffie?
Did they spoon-feed Steff questions to bias the ABC interview? ================================================

"Clinton Cash" author Schweizer, has been assembling the Steffie track record:

<><> •In 2006 Georgeopoulous was a featured attendee and panel moderator at the annual CGI meeting.

<><> •in 2007 he was listed as a featured attendee at the CGI meeting alongside big money Lucas Lundin, Frank Giustra, Frank Holmes, and Carlos Slim.

<><> •He was a 2008 panelist at the annual meeting.

<><> •In 2009 he was a panel moderator at the CGI annual meeting.

<><> •In 2010, he was a hand-picked “notable member” of CGI's exclusive members-only club w/ a $20,000 membership price tag.

=============================================

THIS IS FROM THE CLINTON FOUNDATION ARCHIVES:

.....this controversy confirms how deeply in the tank the MSM is for the Clintons in particular, and, for the Dem Party in general.....

(HAT TIP FREEPER TRAVIS MCGEE) "Most viewers of the New Hampshire Republican primary debate wondered why ABC-NEWS debate moderator George Stephanopoulos kept asking seemingly off-topic questions about the candidates’ views."

Georgio's "gotcha" question to Obama's opponent, Mr Romney, about birth control, lasted weeks on the news cycle even though it was not an issue anywhere in the US.

We now understand White House War Room “General” Valerie Jarrett had been coaching hard-left suckups like Georgio to deliver the administration's “talking points” and strategic memes via the debate format....colluding in the effort to dupe America voters.

Clearly Democrat suck-up boychik Georgio who was a ruthless factotum in the Clinton White House, did not "just happen" to pick debate questions designed to boost Democrats. He was coached by cunning Obama White House conspirators......

Of course most of us who saw Stephanopolous’s transition from a Dem political operative and high ranking Clinton hack to ABC News are not surprised by his partisan leanings.

My theory is that Stephanopoulos' departure and joining ABC News coincided with the movie "The American President."

Low information voters at the time equated Stephanopoulos with his "character" portrayal by Michael J. Fox. Stephanopoulos inherited the good feelings that people had for Fox in that movie.
