DEAT ????
Too many sheeple listen to them and think they fairly represent the news.
The MSM still controls public opinion, and is a serious enemy of our country...Deat or no deat....
They're in a race now, to fill the country with enough clients of the welfare state to tip the balance permanently towards statist progressives before MSM influence is completely gone.
Any non-Democrat surrounded by the nimbus of odor surrounding, say—Hillary Clinton—would be faced with a daily drumbeat from the newspapers, magazines and TV urging him to “do the right thing” and resign.
And if you were to ask this scribe, “Hey. Didn’t you actively support this guy’s opponent?” well, whichever `George’ it was would act offended, would interpose his journalistic objectivity, professionalism, the 1st amendment, the kitchen sink, and so forth.
That dog don’t hunt no more. The middle has finally figured out what we came to understand a long time ago. The MSM is an arm of the Democrat party: expecting them to be objective is like asking a hungry bulldog to pass on a meaty bone.
Even a small effort such as a letter to the editor in local papers talking about the intertwined relationships with people like Clintons and Georgie or C. Matthews is a step in making people who don't normally take an interest in politics take note and maybe become suspicious of what they hear and read.
I wish Republican candidates would employ attacking the media as a central part of any campaign strategy. Attack, attack attack. For all his warts Newt excelled at this.
No one cheers more than me when one of the liberal media dinosaurs takes its last breath. But also nagging in the back of my mind is one little discordant note. For at least twenty years, I’ve been hearing (ad nauseum) the optimistic drumbeat of how technology is breaking the back of the liberal media monopoly and how it will usher in a vibrant wave of conservativism as new voices break through, and eventually remedy the left-leaning list of the nation.
Yet, all I’ve really seen is the country exponentially rushing more leftward, and the populace as a whole becoming both vastly more dumbed down and more degenerate. The optimism of twenty years ago has hardly panned out, to put it mildly.
Why do we acquiesce in leftist values by calling their media “mainstream”? Why not call it what it is — communist? (OK, “socialist,” for those who are afraid of the c-word.) Why should we care whether it is the majority view?
Sorry, they are far from dead
I thought this was posted earlier?

They control the conversation...
I look forward to Kurt’s column every Monday. I don’t always agree with him, but he’s always interesting.
