Air Force general who spoke of God in talk should be court-martialed, group says

An Air Force general who recently spoke about how God has guided his career should be court-martialed, a civil liberties group is saying.

In a speech at a National Day of Prayer Task Force event on May 7, Maj. Gen. Craig Olson credits God for his accomplishments in the military, and refers to himself as a “redeemed believer in Christ.”

The Air Force Times reports that the Military Religious Freedom Foundation has taken issue with Olson’s remarks, is calling for the two-star general to be court-martialed and "aggressively and very visibly brought to justice for his unforgivable crimes and transgressions."

The group authored a letter to Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Walsh, arguing that Olson’s speech violates rules within the Air Force, which prohibits airmen from endorsing a particular faith or belief.

And the Obamatons allowed that human garbage, Nadal Hassan, to hand out biz cards with “Soldier of Allah.”

The military is on life support. 2 years left for Obama to completely destroy it. Hopefully they can rebuild but I doubt it. Once the taint of liberalism infects an organization it is nearly impossible to cut out the cancer.

Yeah. And if he had claimed allegiance to a moon god who commands followers to kill Christians and Jews, he would have gotten a promotion.

Shame on Fox News. Calling the MRFF a “civil liberties” group is like calling Obama the second Reagan. Just another sign that Fox has gone down into the sewer inhabited by the other so called media elite.

“Checked out their site and they seem to support military/veterans. I don’t get their problem.”

He/they of course ‘think’ they are supporting military/veterans. “It’s for the good of our military and our nation” in their eyes. Their problem is with God. They are individuals who have joined together to collectively shake their fists in God’s face, using the military as their excuse. They are so spiritually sick and under demonic forces control that they have actually convinced themselves that they are doing good.

"All because everyone wanted to be “cool” and elect the first Black president."

Yup, we now live in a "Reality Show" culture. As much I enjoy The Soup on E! TV, that channel is mostly Karcrapians non-stop. Then you have the "Bachelor" crap that is so scripted and still "Big Brother" or some such inane sh*t.

I've looked at every one of those bogus shows where everyone is just nasty and giving crap to each other. I couldn't get past their low-class white-trash behavior. Yet, Maury Povich (sp) has a highly popular show that has the same theme over and again: Who's your Daddy from DNA tests? It's usually the same fat ass black women who go off in a frenzy when they find that daddy isn't daddy. Most are black trash, but some are white trash. I can't believe people actually stand in line to get a seat to watch that trash.

Gawd, I so long for the 50', of course without the racial discrimination. Still, that was an innocent time for our youth until us Boomers let them run wild during the 60's.

If you really want to understand why our culture/country is going downhill, read, "Slouching Towards Gomorrah" by Robert H. Bork. It's about 10 years old, but he explains why our education, political, and social structure has broken down from the once greatest society on this rock.

The same one the political correctness officers are using to remove chaplains from the services—no proselytizing.

We have had 3 base commanders here summarily removed in the past 6 months for “failing to inspire confidence.” I wonder if that is now code for being a Christians or not heartily endorsing the homosexual agenda?

It is where we come from, Mickey, deal with it.

Good luck! And let us beseech the blessing of Almighty God upon this great and noble undertaking.

You’re exaggerating, the Freedom From Religion Foundation didn’t call for his head to be cut off and posted on Facebook.

Yet.

Disagree. Once we have an American CIC back in charge, the top military commanders will do a quick turn around. There is nothing wrong with E-7's and below. They full fill their Oath daily, as do many Officers in lower ranks.

The problem lies within the PC flag officers who go along to get along to further their careers. Remember, how many of our top generals/admirals have either been fired or retired due to Obambi's policies. Once he's gone, I'd put my money on our military getting its sh*t back together. I know the training - many here don't and only obsess about the politics of the upper echelon.

While I was a simple aviation Navy sailor, I saw how much influence Chief Petty Officers (E-7) had on the ship. I would think that to be the same in the all Armed Forces. The Academy or OCS graduates learn early on how much the upper enlisted control the destiny of a ship or platoon or even company.

Sounds like someone is seriously misinterpreting the current rules. It is not possible that the military would hold a national day of prayer event and then restrict the speech of the religious people they have speak.

If I were this general, I would say "Bring it on!"

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation should be air-dropped over Raqqa, Syria.
