Presidential candidate Sen. Marco Rubio told FOX News Sunday host Chris Wallace he still believe in comprehensive immigration reform, but the votes just aren't there. Rubio this is due to the 2014 border crisis and "unilateral actions the president took in his executive orders."
Rubio acknowledged former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Virginia) "partially lost" the Republican primary in 2014 because of his support for comprehensive immigration reform.
"The problem is the votes aren't there in the House," Rubio said Sunday. "And as you know, for example, the Majority Leader of the House partially lost his election on the perception that he was in favor of immigration reform and that impacted the way others voted as well."
Rubio also surprisingly said there is support for comprehensive immigration reform, but Congressmen and women "are going to vote based on what they're hearing from their constituents and others."
"Clearly leaders stand for the idea you need to do something but you also have to deal with the reality that in the political process people are going to vote based on what they're hearing from their constituents and others," Rubio told Wallace.

FUMR!! Amnesty pimps need not apply!!
This might be the most honest answer we’ve gotten from any of them.
It’s all about the polls and the process and the equivocation and another little step in that long line of appeasement and capitulation, isn’t it.
Lies defined by what special interest group they are talking to, which MSM outlet and who was their most recent large contributor that is out there listening to them at present.
I learned with Senators Chambliss and Isakson about lies and backtracking with their early support to W. in his 2006 attempt to implement amnesty. The two got so much flak over it they cartwheeled in the reverse direction.
BUT! But, it’s always the same with them. It all whittles down to “They may change their tunes, but they won’t change their hearts.”
Great...
Couldn’t modify your statement?
You put nationwide a measure to immediately build a border and to man it and it would pass by 85%.
These politicians should not bullsh!t us.
Note to Rubio: The votes aren’t lacking because we’re uninformed, due to lack of hearing the message, it’s because we’re highly informed despite the obfuscations.
Republicans need to wake up to the fact that NONE of the media are their friends.
Rubio did try to respond to Wallace, but Wallace kept interrupting him and demanding he respond to something some female reporter asked him (about Iraq) earlier in the week.

I don't know if Team FoxNews and Wallace were trying to deflect from Bush's bad week and his several do-overs about his bro going into Iraq, but Wallace was despicable this morning in interrogating Rubio. Wallace would NEVER had treated Hillary Clinton nor any other Democratic candidate like that.
Of course, Hillary would probably have demanded and got the questions in advance.
House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Virginia) “partially lost”
As one of the voters who ousted the weasel Eric Cantor, I can tell you that it was more than “partial”.
We knew he was going to betray us later last summer and dumped him.
Marco seems to think Congressman should not listen to their constituents. How can we have a representative Republic if Congress does not listen to the people?
We’ve been screaming for years to secure the border and enforce the laws.
The Cheap Labor Express has bought off the majority of the GOP.
Rubio is still an amnesty shill.
DO NOT GIVE MORE KNIVES TO BACKSTABBERS!
Politicians can support this kind of “reform” — or they can support America.
The Rube is still a rube.
Amen!
The lawless in the country want amnesty for the illegal alien law breakers because they say they can’t all be deported, it’s way past time to start deporting them and prove the lawless wrong.
“Not an amnestyRubio fan, but he was badgered relentlessly this morning on FoxNews Sunday by Chris Wallace”
Agree. I saw that and was surprised that Wallace played his hand so openly.
According to the census, in a short thirty-five years, whites will comprise only 44 percent of the population. This country is, basically, over. Thank you George W Bush and Ted Kennedy.
“The problem is the votes aren’t there in the House,” Rubio said Sunday. “And as you know, for example, the Majority Leader of the House partially lost his election on the perception that he was in favor of immigration reform and that impacted the way others voted as well.”
The Uniparty had planned t oass the Senate amnesty bill through the House last summer, but the voters of VA-7 threw a monkey wrench into their plans by ousting the weasel Eric Cantor. Cantor was spending millions on direct mailings lying about how he opposed amnesty while plotting with the “leadership” to pass it.
We saw through his lies and used the term limit that is within the hands of everyone.
VOTE THEM OUT!
Everyone of them that is more concerned with fraudulently documented foreigners than American citizens needs to go.
We must uphold the rule of law or lose it forever.
That will be a first.
Ditto
To add to my own post, I forgot to point out that it is racism to not rejoice over the disappearance of my own race. Today’s (white) college students would smile patiently at my display of obvious racism.
