John Bolton: I have decided not to seek the Republican nomination for president
facebook ^ | 05/14/2015 | John Bolton

As I look forward, I have decided not to seek the Republican nomination for president. I believe I can make the strongest contribution to our future by continuing as a clear and consistent advocate for a strong Reaganite foreign policy that values peace through strength.

While I am not a candidate, I am certainly not going to sit this election out, and I’m counting on your ongoing support to defend America’s national security interests.

-John Bolton

Yeah, Bolton is great, but he’s not very charismatic, so I don’t think elected office is going to be in the cards for him. He’s principled and has a great grasp of policy, so a cabinet position like SoS would be perfect for him.

Bolton would be a better choice as Secretary of State or foreign policy advisor.

Pretty sure Bolton is adviser to Cruz.
He is already president of RedEye.

Good. While I like Bolton, as a conservative he would be most likely to draw votes away from Cruz. And I’m a Cruz man.

Agree....and I suspect that the highly intelligent Bolton who is also blessed with good judgement and extensive knowledge is also a Cruz man.

Bolton has more wisdom than many other candidates who are running and wasting conservative money and resources.

Cruz is the only candidate worthy of presiding over these United States he will be president, there should be no doubt there is no second choice on which to waste time and money.

It is most discouraging to hear conservatives saying they want to hear what all the candidates have to say, they have already said it, and you know out of the bunch Cruz consistently says what means and stands by it regardless of the ever shifting political winds.

Still, he’d be an outstanding Veep choice.

What does he add to the ticket?

This leaves the GOP moustache-wearing demographic up for grabs. It’s a real disadvantage to Carly Fiorina, but who can move first to seize the opening?

I was thinking more like Sec. of State. Cleaning up Hillary and Kerry’s screw ups and bring back some back bone and dignity to the office.
