As I look forward, I have decided not to seek the Republican nomination for president. I believe I can make the strongest contribution to our future by continuing as a clear and consistent advocate for a strong Reaganite foreign policy that values peace through strength.
While I am not a candidate, I am certainly not going to sit this election out, and I’m counting on your ongoing support to defend America’s national security interests.

Good. While I like Bolton, as a conservative he would be most likely to draw votes away from Cruz. And I’m a Cruz man.
Bolton was all for NSA spying on regular Americans too..
Still, he’d be an outstanding Veep choice.

John Bolton is a very smart man, especially when it comes to foreign policy....he should be made head of the State Department....now that possibility scares the wheeee out of progressives and other libs.

President Ted Cruz should consider him for Secretary of State.
The time window in which he could have run for the nomination was open the widest right after he left the position of UN Ambassador. At that time, his name recognition was sky high, because of his tendency to challenge the PC aspects of the UN. Now, the only people who know who Bolton is and the signifcance of his core beliefs would be News Junkies, like myself, not the average citizen.
I’m glad. Bolton isn’t a social Conservative.

I think he would have done quite well raising money compared to the likes of Huck, Carson, etc.
It would have been nice to see another adult in the race if Cruz were not in it. I hope he throws his support behind Ted,
