But did the cop get home safely?
One time, a couple of years ago, I was on my way home,
and I was coming through some heavy traffic,
and an officer was in the road, directing traffic.
As I approached, he suddenly stepped out right in front of me
and held up his hand in a “stop” motion.
I had to slam on brakes just to keep from hitting him.
My briefcase and lunch box fell off the seat and into the floor.
I hollered out the window at him:
“God forbid you couldn’t have waited 5 seconds for the next car.”
He had me pull over so that he could lecture me for about 10 minutes
about how important his job was, and how I should show more respect.
Some of the officers out there are just accidents waiting to happen.
Rather than performance enhancement drugs maybe a better name would be "overly angry and aggressive" drugs.
This country is really losing its way.
Remember: YOU are here to serve the COPS.
The important thing is the officer got to go home tonight safe...
Do I need a sarcasm tag ?
Woof!
No animals were harmed during the incident.
They actually canned a cop in Kennewick, Washington for pulling this same off duty stunt twice in about 2 month period. First guy he assaulted was a senior citizen who was driving the meals on wheels lunch wagon. He was on roids too...
The part that chilled me was that the police that did come took this as no big deal because it was one of their guys that did it. They searched the other folks car!
It makes me less inclined to be sympathetic to their problems these days.
In the video the woman claims she honked because the driver of a black Dodge Ram was heading into her lane. That would suggest the Dodge Ram drive may have been intoxicated or on drugs. Did the police test the driver? No? Oops.
Smart money leaves the county.
They would have to leave the country. It was a US Marshall that did it.
Whatever happened to all those badgelickers here that used to reliably chime in with “we need to hear both sides of the story”?
I recall a stupid off duty cop picking a fight with Michael Carbajal a number of years ago.
Didn’t work out well for the cop.
Maybe we should look at our cops as victims of PTSD? Or Present TSD! I’ve been very vocal in my support of the cops in what they have to put up with while on assignment in our inner cities (I should know - I’ve spent half my life on the outskirts) but have also been a victim of over-the-top angry cops - during Hurricane Sandy in a crime free seaside town, no less.
Exactly.
Anyone got a problem with that?
If you do, just raise your f****** hand and your concern will be addressed shortly.
I’ve been very supportive of our cops during the Baltimore/Missouri troubles. I continue to be. But this is crazy unless more comes out about it.
Bingo! I have long thought the same thing about police aggressiveness and the use of such drugs. It could also account for the high suicide rates among cops. I personally know of a young man who wanted nothing more than to be a cop. He went to college and got his degree in criminal justice. He seemed so mild and meek, very slight in his build, totally not your stereotype of a cop. He went on to get a job on the Atlanta police force after graduation. At the age of 27, he blew his brains out. When I saw his picture on memoriam website, he didn’t look like the same person, very bulked up. Plus he had always used that drug for acne that has also been tied into some heavy problems for young people. Tragic for him, and even more tragic for innocent citizens who become victims to this wrath.
And people wonder why cops get killed in ambush shootings.
Didn't work out too well for Carbajal either. Can't find any info on a conviction but at a minimum Carbajal went to jail that night.
A question for my fellow FReepers: are local LEOs routinely required to undergo testing for drugs, including performance enhancing substances that may contribute to aggressive behavior?
