You’re wrong. Each team provides and plays with their own balls.

A suspension and fine because he “probably” knew the balls were deflated. How can this hold water in the courts?? I hope he fights it.

Such jealousy....how can freepers be so quick to jump on such a contrived speculative report ...when any sane person would know that some type of chicanery occurs with every team. This is just a game/business....save your quick damnation for the real thieves and criminals in Washington and your state...Good Lord grow up!

"For a report that has to use the word ‘probable’? You need incontrovertible evidence to render a judgment like that."

They were being polite. What they meant to say was that though we have no physical evidence, any idiot knows that the ballboys wouldn't adjust the ball pressure without being told to do so by the star quarterback.

Tom Brady* is not only a cheater, he is a coward as well, selling the lowly ballboys up the river like that.

Yup, the Patriots would have won without cheating. So what?

The Patriots cheat because it’s their modus operandi. They gain an advantage in three ways. One, it does give them a slight advantage in the physical part of the game.

Two, it gives them a confidence boost, because it would be easy for the NFL to prevent the cheating, but for the most part they turn a blind eye to the Patriots, which gives the Pats a sense that the NFL is helping them win games.

Three, it demoralizes their opponents, because they know the Patriots in any given game are getting away with cheating.

It is unlikely their record would be different by more than a few points scored without the cheating, yet they still feel compelled to cheat. They are undermining the fans’ view of the sport, and the punishments that have been meted out will not change the underlying attitude driving the behavior.

Tom Brady’s career was launched by a referee reversing a called fumble late in a playoff game when he had both hands on the football and it was knocked out of his hands. He walked off the field with his head down because he knew he had lost the game. Belichik didn’t start jumping up and down screaming it wasn’t a fumble because he saw it happen and knew they had no reason to claim otherwise. Then the referee misapplied the rule about pump fakes and gave the ball back to his team. I am convinced that that particular moment gave both QB and coach a sense of entitlement and made them think they could get away with anything they want.

Only when they refuse to use apostrophes and get braggadocios about their team.

Tom Brady and his wife are international celebrities. Tom was right in not turning over his cell phone. His texts would have been on Page 6 and the Drudge Report.

Roger gave a thug a two game suspension for knocking a woman cold.
This is way over the top.

Roger Goodell is now a marked man.

"And BOTH teams play with the same ball. Rules need to followed granted, but I fail to see how this would benefit one team over the other?"

Nope. Each team has 12 balls. And they each use their own when on offense.

LOL. Polite? Are you kidding? They would have used stronger language if they could...considering the total lack of evidence they were reaching to use ‘probable’.

Tell me why the 4 Colt balls checked were deflated? Did Brady tell his staff to deflate them as well? Why were the Colts not investigated? Why only check 4 balls and not all 12? The report states 1 Pats guy deflated 12 balls in under 100 seconds but a room of refs could not check 12 Colt balls in 12 minutes?

This whole issue is just beyond stupid. If the NFL valued this and the air pressure in the balls so much, then why don’t they have some kind of official watching over the balls at all times before and during the game. IMO, this is nothing but NFL fail all around.

Disclaimer: Not even close to be a Brady or Patriots fan.

Browns GM Ray Farmer was suspended 4 games for texting the sidelines. They must have some idea Brady was involved with the incident (being QBs are the one who decide how much pressure they want in the balls.) But if Farmer got 4 games for texting a 4 game suspension for using balls with lower pressure to gain an advantage seems small by comparison YET the guy who beat up his girlfriend got less games suspended.

Liberals use this tactic all the time. Red herrings. Deflect from the issue at hand. Despite any lack of evidence, do you honestly believe that Tom Brady* did not instruct the ball attendents to deflate the Patriots game balls? That they decided to do it all on their own without any input whatsoever from their superstar quarterback who, keep in mind, stated that he was very particular on how the game balls are to be prepped to his liking?

If so, the conflict you are having is not with the NFL or fans of opposing teams. The conflict is the battle between right and wrong going on between your heart and your brain. The devil on one shoulder and the angel on the other so-to-speak. But that is a good thing because deep down inside, you know what is right and what is wrong. You needn’t worry about covincing others, just yourself.

Peace!

You think Brady is the only QB who likes his footballs a certain way? You obviously know little about football. They all do, Manning, Rodgers (stated publically he like his over inflated, and has done so in the past), Romo, all of them.

How is equal treatment a deflection? Only the left think some people (conservatives) should be held to a different standard as liberals. Fact: the 4 balls used by Indy were deflated. Fact: The league did not bother to check the remaining 8 despite fact #1. Fact: there was no investigation about the Colt balls being deflated. Fact: What I believe is immaterial. I could believe you beat your wife but who cares what I believe. Evidence is what I want. I sure as hell would not want to be convicted on the phrase ‘Probable.’ You on the other hand would have no problem with that. Good for you.
