It is not a matter of want. Social Security and Medicare are nearing the precipice because 93 million Americans who can work don’t. It is unsustainable.
I want anyone who is not retired off social security...anyone who did not pay their whole working life into the “fund” - OFF.
Illegal immigrants uber alles.
Tax Hikeabee ping.
What proof do you have of this? Link?
How come we’re always hearing how we are running out of money to pay Social Security benefits, but we never hear of how we are running out of money to make monthly payments to all the”Gibmedats”?
I agree that some grandfathering would need to be done, but using 14 as a standard is nuts. Lacking data/time/initiative to figure it all out 'scientifically, I would think that anyone under 35 stops making the payments and is told to figure it out and those between 35 and retirement age are given the opportunity to get out if they wish, with at least some cash incentives to try to make up for what they already have invested.
