CASTRO: THIS POPE’S SO IMPRESSIVE, I MIGHT RETURN TO CHURCH
Breitbart/AP ^ | May 10, 2015 | staff

Posted on 05/10/2015 7:38:24 AM PDT by bkopto

Cuban President Raul Castro paid a call on Pope Francis at the Vatican Sunday to thank him for working for Cuban-US detente and later said he is so impressed by the pontiff he is considering a return to the Catholic church’s fold.

“Bienvenido!” Francis said in his native Spanish, welcoming Castro to his studio near the Vatican public audience hall. The Cuban president, bowing his head, gripped Francis’ hand with both of his, and the two men began private talks. The meeting lasted nearly an hour, as the Argentine-born Francis and Castro spoke in their native Spanish.

Francis will visit Cuba in September en route to the United States.

After leaving the Vatican, Castro, the brother of Fidel, the revolutionary leader who brought the Communists to power in Cuba, gushed with praise for Francis.

The pontiff “is a Jesuit, and I, in some way, am too,” Castro said at a news conference. “I always studied at Jesuit schools.”

“When the pope goes to Cuba in September, I promise to go to all his Masses, and with satisfaction,” Castro said at a news conference at the office of Italian Premier Matteo Renzi, whom he met with after the Vatican talks.

“I read all the speeches of the pope, his commentaries, and if the pope continues this way, I will go back to praying and go back to the church, and I’m not joking,” he said.

Ummm. OK. I guess it takes a commie to know a commie. So lets see if Raul empties the prisons of political prisoners, declares a right to free speech, and gives reparations to generations of destroyed families, and issues a general mea culpa for hundreds of thousands of murders. Someone famous once said, "You'll know them by their fruits."

I'm a product of a Jesuit education, but I ain't no Jesuit. Or communist, either.

Yes. Instead, he seems to think he and Pope Francis are doing God a favor. This Pope really makes me sick. He encourages the worst.

Worth a read:

Operation Gladio: The Unholy Alliance between the Vatican, the CIA, and the Mafia by Paul L. Williams (Author).

He writes about this pope and his links to communism etc.

His others are good to re the Vatican.

Ah, the ole “cramming for finals” as my little 5th grade teacher nun would say. He’ll be up many a night repenting his evil.

I guess Jesus Christ just didn’t do it for him.
What a miserable chump.

It’ll never happen, the Castros will never officially allow the Cuban people to worship anyone but them.

Let’s see - 1959 to 2015 - that’s 66 years of oppression, tyranny and murder - I’d hate to be the poor padre who has to hear that hangman’s confession (not that he’d actually do it, of course).

This should discourage a few who were contemplating conversion.

Raul speaks a lot of words. Let us see whether he actually is repentant and begins to behave like a Christian. After all, Christians are known by their actions, not their words.

We should all pray that Raul is serious about his possible conversion back to the fold of the Redeemer.
