The recent spectacle of Pamela Geller, the erstwhile journalist who organized a provocative contest in Texas of cartoons of the prophet Muhammad, gives pause to even the most passionate defenders of the First Amendment.

Not since Westboro Baptist Church

The same people who shrieked off with his head when Richard Nixon admitted he bombed the NVA in Cambodia.

She’s an idiot. But you know what I say? If they want to live in an Islamic hellhole, let ‘em. It’s not like they haven’t been warned.

You’re right Kathleen. Not everyone deserves free speech.

You certainly don’t.

These are the same media outlets that you can bet celebrated "piss Christ" and Maplethorpe

Not in the least. It only gives pause to the "for me but not for thee" defenders of it (like the WaPo).

Not since Westboro Baptist Church’s “God Hates Fags” message...

Apples to oranges. That question wasn't whether or not Al Gore's buddy could proclaim his idiotic message. It was whether or not they should be allowed to disrupt someone else's event (a funeral) in the process. That gives some pause.

Well, that’s two down, I suppose.

Amen. She finally got something right.

Dear Kathleen:

"In 1969, the Supreme Court's decision in Brandenburg v. Ohio effectively overturned Schenck and any authority the case still carried. There, the Court held that inflammatory speech--and even speech advocating violence by members of the Ku Klux Klan--is protected under the First Amendment, unless the speech "is directed to inciting or producing imminent lawless action and is likely to incite or produce such action"

It's Time to Stop Using the 'Fire in a Crowded Theater' Quote

Embrace the suck.

As with “the prophet mohammed” I wonder that when discussing Christianity she refers to “the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” ... I doubt Parker ever has.

AND Parker has the gall to go on to call on the philosophers...
Well, I will stand with VOLTAIRE. “I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!”

I will call Parker an APPEASER from henceforth.

Not since Westboro Baptist Church’s “God Hates Fags” message and Florida pastor Terry Jones burning the Koran has the principle of free speech been so sullied and abused.

The mainstream media abuses free speech all the time by pretending to run news organizations, but actually airing agenda drive reports supporting the narrative, and ignoring non supportive news.
